Florida or Buffalo could be looking for a defencemen named Chris Tanev. - manvanfan
Hello Sam Reinhart, and of course we'll include that 2nd rounder. |

Tomorrow night I will be at the Kelowna Rockets-Everett Silvertips playoff game.
I talked to an old friend of mine(former amateur scout)who tells me to keep an eye on Kole Lind-solid player, should be a 2nd Line player or very good 3rd liner. From Everett he says to watch this 16 year old kid that is 6'3" 200#, has 20 goals 18 assists... Riley Sutter...
Also tells me that Callan Foote should be at minimum a top 2 defenseman, but he thinks he will be a number 1 defenseman. He does not like to compare players to others, but said if he had to he says a cross between Nick Lidstrom & Drew Doughty. He lives here in Kelowna & watches him play regularly, thinks Canucks will be missing out if they do not take him when they pick....àlso he does not even like the Canucks.
Will post my own opinion when I get a chance, after I have seen these games. - Reubenkincade
Okay. Thanks for that. Sounds like RNH who didn't like the Nucks and thought he was the next Gretzky. Don't mind the moxy. But if all you said was true it's a little big headed. Anyway. Your opinion on what you see would be nice. If Nucks win lotto. Then JB should be trying to make deals too. Another pick mid round may solve some options. But can't pick them all. |

If we could trade tanev for a top 10 pick and get foote, that would be amazing...after it pays of in like 3 years though, but if tanev was to be traded it would probably be for top 6 help |

I have a problem with this scouts contradiction.
Says does not compare then goes ahead citing a HOFer & Norris D man.
Idk there was a superstar HOF so readily available & recognized in this draft. |

Only top 2 C & no wingers unless others r moved.
A top 10 pick is nothing special vs a proven ready now top D.
A risk with no guarantee. |

In a so so draft, why would u trade a solid (not old) Dman for just a shot at drafting a player who might be solid dman?
If Tanev goes for a 1st, there has to be much more involved. He's not an aging rental.
If he goes to Buffalo I'm not throwing in anything else for Reinhart. JB tried hard to move up to #1 or #2 his first year on the job. Talk is he wanted Sam. But, if he got 1st I couldn't imagine he woulda passed on Ekblad. |

Tanev for Reinhart? id make that deal any day, Tanevs 27, yes hes solid but for a rebuilding team Gudbranson and Tryamkin can be the shutdown defense they move forward with |

No.
Benning has been adamant that he is not trading draft picks. I believe him on this one. |

That can change in a second (pardon the pun when your talking about a young high end center. See Kyle Turris for example |

Yeah can see that. JB might be seeing now the Nucks need size and speed to add to the high end talent pool. Just in general talented players with speed are a big need. Adding some size/aggression with that would be good too. |

That's the issue getting a lotto or high draft pick even in a watered down draft costs. Remember Bryan McCabe being traded in draft for Sedin pick.
Anyway. Who knows maybe Tanev can get more. Like a 1st and prospect. Would like to see that asset conversion. He's entering prime years. Under contract. No need to give Tanev away and for little. |

When have Eichel and O'Relly they'd rather play Sam on W to remain in top 6.

Maybe so but he still has no credentials he can be a top 2 C.
Todays game is about speed & skill & C needs a 200' game.
Very few can do without it unless a superstar & points machine. |

I had Chychrun as my 3rd. He had a terrible u-18 tournament in the summer. I read that there is a lot of stock put into how players do in the u-18's. Reason why Clayton Keller got into the top 10. - manvanfan
Chychrun has been terrible internationally and also at the top prospects game. There is a reason he dropped. Not a big game player. |

Playoff race in Western conference is pretty much over. Kings too far out now losing to Flames. Rest are just playing for home ice and playoff match up here on out.
So what does this mean for Canucks remaining games? Just putting perspective on measuring what youth is here and how they do.
Will there be challenges with teams tuning up or wanting points? Will it just be garbage time with teams protecting players?
Of late, others teams have not been physical in games against Canucks. The games seem low event. Maybe Tree can step up more to elicit emotion. If this is still an audition and development period. |

We can't say yes we got a 20 goal scorer for Shinkaruk.
Can't believe they shut him down before scoring 20. |

I think it would depend on where the first is. At 10 i'd say i would ask for maybe a 3rd or prospect. If it is at 6 then I would say I getting closer to straight up. |
