Pretty sure Demko will be in his last year of his ELC deal and probably get a hefty raise a year later. |

I am enjoying Crosby's response to Brad. A good ol (frank) you hat trick today. |

When Demko is ready for a raise Edler is gone. Much ado about nothing |

We can go round and round and round on who needs a raise when. Someone comes off, someone needs a raise. |

Turris, Benn (Jamie) and Kane all come home just in time to take another shot at Lord Stanley in four years - LeftCoaster
I know you were kidding about 27 year old Turris 2018 UFA; 27 year old Benn 2025 UFA; and 25 year old Kane 2018 UFA. Especially in the unlikely four year acquisition. Though I would like to see them Canucks.
I was disappointed that Benn didn't hold out to go UFA. But took signing current deal of the big contract. Canucks could have fit him in and just built around him. Now that's over. Full stop.
Though if by 2018 with at least Sedins 14M coming off books and Turris and Kane are UFA's maybe sign them for core support. It could accelerate the rebuild to that competitiveness in your suggested four year timeline. That's two more drafts '17 & '18 added. Plus ripened previous draft players. Could be a good nexus. Like how the Wild and CBJ turned around. |

Next UFA to target is Kyle Turris when Sedins go - VANTEL
I don't think he's going anywhere- sens will give him his big contract. He has earned it. I'm curious if the Canucks will offer up the Sedins to a contender in the next year- I can see the Rangers taking a kick at the can (even though they would probably have to maneuver a bit with the cap room...). Do canuck's fans think they will retire in Vancouver? |

Perhaps as a backup Thomas Greiss? He has experience and hasn't shown he is a 1 yet? Offer him a 2 yr deal with the carrot that the starter job is not settled. They don't seem ready to anoint Markstrom the starter and Demko shouldn't be rushed? |

Do you think this will hinder a rebuild? It seems that they could get an awful lot for a pair of still relevant elite players. I feel a new direction (and new GM) could be great for this franchise |

That's a good option. WD did favor Miller for desperate playoff fight. But Marky is in background more now because of bad timing of injury.
Another thought is if Canucks make a multiplayer trade around Tanev and take a bad contract back in a goalie for prospect and pick upgrades. |

They have a NMC and legacy Canucks. Plus even if they wanted to go moving $14M to a contender with retention is improbable. Why the response. The rebuild is on. Has been a slow change. Only 4 vets that includes Sedins left from pre JB era. |
