That's whats going to happen they will retire as canucks and I am fine with that they deserve it. - Bettmanhatesus
That's the most likely scenario.
Everyone should be fine with it, because that's what is likely going to happen, and there is no point getting bent out of shape about it.
But...i wouldn't say it's a 100%.
they could be traded and its fun to speculate.
they could sign a 1 day contract the following year and 'retire' canucks all the same, and no one would think any less of them. |

Wesley Welker, Deion Branch, Randall Moss, Richard Seymour, Chandler Jones, Jamie Collins Sr, Michael Vrabel, etc... were all key/cornerstone impact players traded by the hoodie.
Do you know much about the Pats? - DeflatedPucks
I don't give a poop about gridiron (that's what we call it here ok? deal with it).
But isn't that his point, trade key players to keep the franchise competitive?
sorta like the Blackhawks??

Have you seen them play since late November? They are no longer capable of scoring depth....more like occasional scoring yet horrendous 5 v 5 and perennial minus players. Who wouldn't want to dive all over that for 14 mil cap hit - Bullfrog77
Another team would split them up and play on different lines. They would put up good points on a different line where they can't pass back and forth until they lose possession. |

Yes, the hoodie is the most remorseless, emotionless, least tactful personnel manager there is. With the exception of Brady, anyone is tradeable (dare i say, Gronk too). The one reason he hasn't traded Brady is a) the nfl offense probably isn't more defined by a position than QB and b) the dude will take the pay cuts. But who knows when this may change... |

hey, if we're going to build our team like another team, that's a pretty damn good model to follow. |

No...I treat players like commodities. I give zero sh!ts about the past or players feelings. I'm just a realist and PR matters - CanuckDon
He is right you know but you knew I would take that side.
They should have been moved years ago. Yes we would have sucked but 4 years ago we would have been drafting a Tyler Seguin and a Morgan Reilly not a Gaunce and a Schroeder |

Results matter more. Look at how the NE Patriots do business. That's why they're the best franchise in sports. - DrChristianTroy

As a Seahawks fan who HATES the Pats, all I know is they consistently sell high on "stars" (big names that everyone else overrates) and keep winning 'ships. Meanwhile, teams like the Canucks hold onto over-the-hill bums until they're worth nothing. Because faux loyalty > winning |

NO way Toronto would have sucked as bad if the had the Twins rather than Kessel... |

When Demko is ready for a raise Edler is gone. Much ado about nothing - VANTEL
I thought we traded him at the deadline? Oh wait he's just been invisible. |

They have a NMC clause. Not sure what else I can say on the matter. Now an actual interesting discussion is whether gilis should have offered them a NMC. Would they have signed in TO if he played hard ball? |

Why? It is not like we have multiple Cups . They were paid handsomely and made a very good living here but it is a business. Burrows has been one of my all time favorites on the Canucks and I was fine to let him go . |

That's just a clause in a contract that gives the player the respect of having a say in his future... Not nearly as big a deal as ppl like to make it. |

You know what else was ENTIRELY UNLIKELY? Burrows for Dahlen & Hansen for Goldobin. The Sedins are movable, always have been, always will be (until they move back to Sweden). All options should be explored to benefit the franchise. - DrChristianTroy
Everyone is movable. To what extent it is going to cost the buyer or the seller is what is up for debate.
The Sedins will stay in Canada. I don't see them leaving after they retire. |
