Why? It is not like we have multiple Cups . They were paid handsomely and made a very good living here but it is a business. Burrows has been one of my all time favorites on the Canucks and I was fine to let him go . - VANTEL
They could go to a contender for one more shot. I would. |

I just don't think they will be traded that's all. |

there have been a ton of NMC or NTC contracts that Benning has been able to move out. But its not easy. It takes time. The rebuild is just beginning (despite our brutal seasons as of late.). It will take full effect when the Sedins move on.
We just gotta wait it out. Sedins won't be traded. Especially with the ability to eat only 1 more portion of a contract.
Sorry VANTEL, u gotta suffer for 1 more year. Who knows, maybe they play better. But probably more of the same. |

They have a NMC clause. Not sure what else I can say on the matter. Now an actual interesting discussion is whether gilis should have offered them a NMC. Would they have signed in TO if he played hard ball? - CanuckDon
We are talking last contract . It was a very bad deal the NMC just made it worse. |

Providence was running demko today, hopefully that's why pedan fought. |

I know. Even though it sounds like I am complaining I am not . I am agreeing with DCT though that it is very poor asset management. Canucks never had a plan going forward with life after the Sedins |

They won't leave Vancouver. And that's their right. I don't think we would get much of a return anyways so I don't understand why this is such a frequent talking point in Van. They have a NMC and huge matching contracts. This is also ignoring the fact that they aren't that good and they are certainly overpaid. |

Everyone is movable. To what extent it is going to cost the buyer or the seller is what is up for debate.
The Sedins will stay in Canada. I don't see them leaving after they retire. - thundachunk
Thats right. If wanna play hard ball i'd pick on Daniel. Hank doesn't have the competition to knock him out of a C position but Daniel does. |

I disagree. What other team has had 2 identical twins earning $14MM with NMC? It's an extremely difficult transaction to pull off especially considering the twins can, and probably would say. No |

Canucks won't do that. The best you can hope for is the new coach splits them up |

So, you don't explore the possibilities out of a fear/assumption they might say no? IF they say no to everything proposed, our hands are tied & we're sh!t outta luck... stuck watching them retire with no value added... Worst case scenario set up by poor asset management which was my original (frank)ing point - DrChristianTroy
The Sedins do a sit down in the off season with management about the state of the team and their role. They alluded in some interviews they will consider then what to do for next season. Maybe JB plays bad cop to TL's good cop. He brings up that he wants to go full youth movement for the 2017-2018 season.
Does it turn into a Luongo circus x 2? Like a public can they find a trading partner the Sedins like show. It's complicated business and hockey wise. |

I'm willing to bet they are thinking about it. The whining after the Burrows/Hansen trades seem to point that way. |

Because this year they cost us games and will probably do more so next year. Like I said the other day The reason they are still here now is for their numbers and their 7 mil and by staying on they are open to a lot of ridicule and complaints |
