Solid
The extra wins arent going to do anything now, preserve the future. You'd hate to see something go wrong because Risto was overplayed in some meaningless games.
Should put sam at c for the remainder of the season and see how he handles it. |

Coaching matters. Number one move is a new coach this offseason. Since Bylsma learned nothing in his time off from the NHL for a year and is unwilling to change from his system that doesn't play to our players strengths.
I'll lose all confidence in Murray if he sticks with Bylsma. - theblueandgold

Everyone forgets Bylsma put up a 106-point season when 87 played 41 games and 108 points when he played 22 games.

Not quite sure what this has to do with this group of players and the constant smoke situation that is players V the coaches.
Seems that there were the same rumors coming out of Pittsburgh before he was let go there. Could be it just escalated faster here.
In that case we have two options, Trade the players or fire the coach.
and again, I now this team talent as a whole is bad, but it is not continually get out shot 15-2 bad and outchanced 3-4 to 1 bad. That is largely on system and coaches. |

He probably isn't. But I agree that I don't want 23 and 15 thinking they can get a coach fired if they want to. |

Coaching is overrated in the NHL. The turnover is amazing. Get a coach in here that gets along with the players and let them play. Sure you can teach them some stuff, that's what the assistant coaches are for. The HC should be a player manager, disciplinarian when need be, and the "voice" of the team. Bylsma tries way too hard to push his brand. |

Eh I dont think it is just them.
Identical situation to Pittsburgh, Rumor was 87 and 71 had a rift with Bylsma and other vets grew tired of his style and his constant wrenching down. |

And they were winning, a lot of games, including a cup.
His message grew stale.
This group never even took it seriously or has had any type of success. IMO they need to grow up |

The Penguins also fired Scotty Bowman after 2 years.
Obviously Crosby's fault.

True, but you also dont want them dreading the idea of coming to work under bylsma.
As a general rule across most sports established coaches tend to get through to established players/teams and young coaches to young players.
I dont necessarily mean young in terms of age but those who typically work with younger players or are more players coaches than strategist.
They skipped a step imo. This team in the "building" phase needed someone who could work with the young players, instead they brought in a guy who's better off with the vets.
Normally not a problem but when you consider the oldest guy in the core is what 24? 25 years old and everyone above 30 on this team is basically useless...you wind up with a scenario where brian gionta gets more minutes than Eichel. |

For all his "ottawa obsession" faults the one that would have come through clutch may have been hiring Richardson.

If you fire bylsma (who may not be the best fit ) youre still left with... a bad team
the lack of improvement from 23,28, 56, 63 and even 29 (still good but expected a better offensive season) could cripple us.
IMO 15& 40 are the only two that have really taken a step forward.
9, 26 ,15 are the next level of players that have improved since last year a little. |

In the tweet of CJ2K, 100 100 100 100. Disco crushed expectations in year one. An almost 30 point jump in the standings is remarkable. I say give him at least the start of another year. Who's out there to replace him? Patrick Roy? Good grief, you think the Sabres have problems with the coach now, Holy S, players be getting benched for celebrating goals they scored. Before this team gets real synergy, it must overcome adversity. Not my chair, not my problem. That's what I say. |
