Nyqvist slashed a guy in the face on purpose and got a 4 min penalty.

If they truly want to stop the nonsense that goes on like what Nyquist did, you suspend him for the remainder of the regular season, and maybe even part of next season.

Make the punishment truly hurt, otherwise, it will only continue as it has.

I think the part in bold is very good as it will help keep them undeterred in what the goal must be this offseason and long term.

Not saying he's a bad player, but signing him to an extension is a bad idea, IMO.

It was deflected before it was even close to him. That's a textbook major interference penalty.

It was said last night but I think the hit is as simple as Ristolainen saw the opportunity to step up and into a player who was getting a pass, and when he saw the pass tipped and not get to the player, it was too late to fully stop, so he turned his back.

For as hard as he hit him, I believe he could have hit him even harder had he not let up a bit.

Yep, I agree. The hit was clean, but ended up being interference due to the puck being deflected on his way to Guentzel. Risto's penality and 1 game is more than enough. Crosby's suicide pass needs to be taken into account and Guentzel skating into the neutral zone with his head down also needs to be considered. But, man, those guys in the Pitt thread act like Risto should be lynched and Guentzel is the new McDavid. They also seem to have no issues what so ever with Crosby's dirty play, we're supposed to look the other way on it.

I think the idea of getting whatever full value means for Kane at the deadline was never going to happen with so many teams in the playoff race, especially the likely trading partners.

The best time to get 'full value' feels like it was always going to be after the season ended.

Pretty simple word for word in the rule book.

This kid needs to keep his head up stuff needs to stop. He didn't have the puck plain and simple.

That is an easy call for any official.

The 4 minute penalty to Kane was deserving he did knock 2 of Crosby's teeth out, however I am more mad at Bylsma for not showing any emotion just 30 seconds earlier when Reinhart was bleeding from a high stick. He didn't say a damn word. The refs missed that one terribly.

The faceoff at center was so bad they had to blow it dead and restart the faceoff.
