I don't think its that dirty at all. I think the hit is fine and everyone just needs something to whine about today. What did Tkachuk do? He turned his back to absorb a hit. Do I think he needed to raise his elbow? Probably not, but that's for the league to decide not me. You guys are saying "he wont fight, he just yaps, all we can do is slash and elbow, whine whine whine".

Not at all comparable to the Bertuzzi incident.

Bertuzzi was following a young guy, forcing him to fight, then dirty hit him after the whistle.


Doughty got rocked by 19 yo's dirty hit after the play. Not comparable imo.

btw Keith hit daniel in the head, because back then the Canucks would NEVER answer the bell (they always wanted to punish teams on the Powerplay). And they didn't..... Keith gets 5 games, Daniel out for 6 months..... you honestly think Keith Regrets that?

Swap Tkachuk's namebar for Marchand and there wouldn't be a single person in here praising the hit. Marchand has been vilified in here for much less, it wont be long until fans here hate Tkachuk just the same

Thought Doughty handled it with class actually, admitted it was dirty, but still kind of gave tkachuk props for playing him so hard.

Granlund was probably on board with this, but he's under contract.... if the team medical staff told him to get surgery, not much he can do it about it. He seems smart, he probably knew this is the best time to take the surgery and gives him ample time for recovery. I would think Management/COachs/Doctors/Granlund and his agent all decided this.

I bring it up strictly because you guys keep saying "Doughty won't fight, the only way is to get slashes/elbows on him". If I remember correctly, Bertuzzi wanted Moore to answer and fight but he wouldn't. The don't belong in the same category apart from the fact that certain people keep saying the only way to get retribution is with these cheap shots, and all I am saying is people need to stop whining and just go after him. Doughty has the puck on his stick all night when hes on the ice, go hit him and let that be the end of it.
