Sorry for being 15 pages behind, but yes, I am. Kid had a terrible game and ended up on the wing, which was the right call. He should be right back at center (not necessarily with 47+67) next game. You were part of the fans that wanted Pacioretty traded in November, right?

He refuses to place any blame on Pacioretty even though he'd be the 1st to admit that Pacioretty is streaky. I don't think Daneault did any better than Galchenyuk last night, but I do think Pacioretty was pretty poopty

LOL Made same comment as an edit.

Thing with Pacioretty is that when he goes through dry spells offensively, he has enough experience now that he won't get caught defensively the way Galchenyuk did last night. It's part of the ups and downs of having a 21 year-old (is he 22 now?) 1C. Nothing wrong with having Danault and Shaw there to give him a break and allow him to refocus, but much like Emelin finding his physical and positional game, Galchenyuk down the middle is part of the solution if Montreal is to see the third round this season.

I don't think its any different than Price vs. Halak. If Julien thinks it needs doing then I have to trust that he knows. The Francois Gagnon line is weak to me though.

Ahh, just read your post right above this one. We are going to disagree about this forever, and frankly I'm not sure either one of us is correct. He needs to play with a guy that goes to get the puck in the corner, and another guy who creates plays. He's the finisher, I hope we can agree on that.

I hate the Montreal media mentality that the playmaker has to play center and be defensively responsible. Jeff Carter has had an excellent career as a center who plays mostly offensively and he's no play-maker, he's the scorer. Radulov is a winger who is more of a play maker. The issue with 67-27-47 is that no one is willing to go win some puck battles in the corners.

For what it's worth, Galchenyuk set-up Pacioretty twice with good looks last night, Pacioretty missed the net both times. He was terrible defensively, but would he be getting grilled like this is Pacioretty puts even one of those chances in?

well there you go! we agree on almost everything!
the only thing we disagree on is that he should play center, and sincerely I don't know how anyone can still believe he should.

so yes, Chucky is more a scorer than a playmaker. (and no, that's not the reason he should play the wing)
yes, he needs a grinder and a playmaker, just like Patch.
keep it up!

btw, Jeff Carter, while being a scorer, is also an excellent defensive player, often used on the PK. something you'll never see Chucky do.

Hey all,

New blog is up! I'm currently traveling and so I apologize if I post a little sporadically...

Cheers!
