When the Dallas Stars fire Lindy Ruff just bring him back
A lot of people aren't going to like this option but I think it's the best with the talent we have on the team I think he could take us places - gerbe75pts
You made more sense when you were talking Benoit Groulx.
Funny how in the world, there's very few people in charge of this, yet so many people who supposedly suck at their job. - BeadyEyedDouche
You can pan some of Murray's trades as overpayments, but in the end, he did bring in a lot of talent. Now he needs to supplement it with the right pieces. This summer will be about him creating a complete team. I have no problem letting him do that. If he strikes out on finding a second D pair and a couple vets for the lower lines, then it's time for him to go. The #2 LW spot is tricky, and i could see Nylander there if the price is too high for a FA.
If we roll into next year without significant changes to the 3-6 D spots, we might as well fire everybody because it's going to be a lot of the same

I don't think Nylander will be ready for that spot next season.

"Hard" is not a good reason to avoid doing the right thing. - Der Kaiser
So, in all honesty, Who specifically is being held back by Bylsma?
Kane is who he has always been
ROR is who he was in Colorado
Lehner has been fine
Okposo was producing at the rate along his career average
Reinhart is playing fantastic, just to avoid this debate
McCabe is progressing
Bogo is the same mess he was in WPG
You can make a case for a small handful
They haven't figured out Risto in his own end
Girgensons is one that genuinely might not fit with Bylsma
Ennis - but you can point to injuries
Gorges was played way too much by Bylsma last year.

the gm has no clue how to value d men
he sits on his a$$ and does noothing when you have 2 of your top 6 get injured before/first week of the season
our pk is brutal and he has yet to address it
the prospect pool is so blah that rochester is the joke of the ahl
time to take the blinders off, this is his team now and it sucks - homiedclown
I'm not saying you are wrong. But I think the more important question than "where did his moves not work" is "where did he have a better option that he didn't take?"
And I'm not saying he didn't have better options. I am just not familiar with them. The only big trade for D I can think of brought Larsson to the Oil, and that cost Hall. Do other people know of other options that were more attractive and Murray didn't take them?

there was a few decent d men in free agency last year, you had to trade for their rights to lock him up
instead we trade for vesey and we all know how that worked
