They all have free will. I highly doubt he thought his D was fine. We were pretty cap strapped. He's going to have a lot of money to pay some D men this year

Hey I want to sell you a "car". Requires a $2,000 non refundable deposit. Car is really neat, let me tell you. - Buffalo--Sabres
There's a chinese auction. Tickets are 5 dollars. The prize is something you really want. You just made 5 dollars by getting rid of something you didn't want (Mcginn), so you spend the 5 bucks to possibly win. You don't win
That's net-net zero. Worth it all day every day |

That would be like arguing that the $2,000 non refundable deposit I'm about to take from you and never deliver a car for, you won at a 50/50 raffle so you're not upset since it wasn't actually "your money" in the first place. But it is your money. It's your asset. If you follow Sabres trade lineage, some of these go back 30-40 years. This pick became player A, who was traded for player B, then draft pick C and so on. This particulary is story has a dead end in Buffalo. It's Nashville's now. |

$24 million in cap space - jcragcrumple
They will pay Eichel and Reinhart before paying 7 mill a year for a D man and that D man will not be Shattenkirk. Lehner, Foligno will get paid and like I said before, he's not looking to move Kane. |

Yeah, i guess we just have completely different views of it. I think we got rid of a mediocre pick that wasn't ours for a shot at a good player who typically wouldn't come along in the third round. Take a player in the third, sometimes they play in the NHL, a lot of times they don't |

Sam and Jack's contracts don't kick in next year, then you have 5.5 more coming off the year they get paid (Gorges and DLO). I assume we will have gotten at least one of Moulson or Ennis off the roster by then, so there's 5-10 million more. By then the cap will escalate. We have plenty of room.

The Babcock thing was rough but they also thought that they had Stamkos, and if he's available they're going to take a run at Tavares |

About a quarter of the cap next year is spent on Gorges, Bogosian, Ennis, and Moulson |

plenty of room?
at a glance
2018-19
ror 7.5 mil
okposo 6 mil
moulson 5 mil
ennis 4.6 mil
risto 5.4 mil
bogo 5.1 mil
that's 28.6 mil for 6
say lehner gets 4 mil
eichel 8 mil
reinhart 4 mil
keep kane at 6 mil
that's over 50 mil for 10 guys
you still need to pay 2 guys decent money, so assume 10 mil for a d man a above average guy up front
now your at 60 mil for 12 guys
you need a backup goalie
you need to pay someone for 3rd line center (gus or someone else)
you need to extend mccabe the following offseason
and pay 7 other guys |

I think the idea that Pegula would not fire Bylsma simply because he has already fired Rex Ryan is ridiculous. That always comes back to money .............. which is chump change to Pegula.
Any reluctance to fire Bylsma can be traced to two ideas:
* They don't believe he is the problem
* There isn't a viable alternative. |

I'd say there's approximately a 0% chance that in 2018-19 we're paying all three of Moulson, Bogo and Ennis. 2 of the 3 will probably be gone. Cap goes up, guys shuffle off. We're actually in pretty good shape. This year was the most painful cap wise

It's funny to me how people will blame a GM for not landing a particular guy when the fact is ...... they never wanted to come here in the first place. They were simply going through the motions at the same time pumping their value to the real destination they preferred. |

Morning all✌🏻
IMO Lehner needs to up his game & consistency. Kulikov never made sense to me & with Bogo not playing as expected hurts. Franson is simply a plug & not physical hence his offense totals r not enough to offset that. Upfront looks ok but more scoring from the wingers is needed. Lastly Bylsma inherited a very good team in Pittsburgh & since has been very overrated. Gerard Gallant would be a good choice. |

If this happens, I'll be impressed.
I doubt it will though.
McPhee's leash can't be that long in LV. I assume they will be in the Pacific, and that division is very top heavy and they will need success quickly in that market so that they can keep the seats filled with their own fans. |

I'm hoping 15 and 23 take that roll.
let ROR be a complimentary piece and the two guys we truly suffered for be the face/voice of the team. |
