I think the suspension is right but I'm probably the one
If it was Jack eichel getting hit like that and being concussed we would all ask for his head - gerbe75pts
This may seem unbelievable but I wouldn't be. If Jack skated through the neutral zone with his head in his boots, he'd be getting cleaned up off the blueline once a game.
Bang, bang play, Risto is at fault, but this is the punishment you award if there is "intent to injure" or something more severe (from behind or elbow up). I don't think you can say there was intent or that he targeted the head (went high). To each their own though, I know if the roles were reversed some would want a much heftier fine/suspension. I just don't think I would. Game misconduct was fair.
Sorry missed a couple days, will stop barking about it.
I thought he would get 2 so he got an extra one because he plays for the Sabres and not the Leafs or Bruins. - Stripes77
........... Pfffft.
Polak just got two games for FAAAAAAAAAR less than what Risto did to Guentzel. Risto got off lightly for a poopty hit that has possibly ended someone's season.

Exactly, because you have nothing to say to defend Risto's BS hit.
The fact that you're trying to play the "because it's the Sabres" card is pretty pathetic, in fact, baseless.
Sure glad Risto won't be around for Saturday though! - As_I_See_It
Right because driving a guy face first into the boards isn't a dirty hit...
Risto tried to Kronwall a guy it's his own fault had he been hitting him straight on it wouldn't have happened, but a guy going head first into the boards, or throwing an elbow at someones head only gets 2 there is no way you can justify giving 3 to Risto when he doesn't have a history.

And it's basically 4, because he missed almost all of the game.
For someone who thought the misconduct was fair, the suspension is BS

The 4 game thing doesn't sit with me because that's the call made on the ice. Whether he did it in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd it doesn't matter to me as much.
It's the supplemental discipline that's BS.
A non hockey play like trying to take of someone's head with their stick like Nyquist did only gets 6 games but a timing play gone wrong gets 3 when a blatant elbow to the head gets 2 and boarding a guy face first (while tracking him the whole way mind you) only gets 2 as well.
