Consolidated draft rankings:
https://canucksarmy.com/2...ted-draft-rankings-march/

1. Patrick.
2. Hisch
3. Vilardi.
4. Liljegrin.
5. Mittelstadt.

Of interest to some here, they got Necas at 8, Makar at 9 and Foote at 18.

Anyone have a read on Vilardi, as frankly, I don't get his high ranking.
His stats for a top 3 pick coming out of the OHL don't seem to warrant the position while his highlights are even more alarming.

His skating looks below average and most of his goals appear to come from banging the puck into the net from the crease...

- Whiskey-Tango

I agree on Vilardi. He's been slipping down my top 10 while players like Mittlestadt rise.

Agreed.
From what little I have seen, he simply looks like a big-body with good positioning while lacking any one elite quality.

Mittlestadt on the other hand
I would be very happy with him or Liljegren, assuming we are in that 4 to 7 range.

So why the whining over the line up now over what was iced against the Hawks?!?

No one is whining, its a stand alone assessment of the current situation with no comments or ties to previous games or lineups

Okay. Timing seemed odd. Not directed at you alone. Others joined in. Though don't you like seeing Goldy in the line up? As dbot said enough key guys are out injured.

But we got Boucher still around trying to get favor and producing. Which looks good. So adding the offensive minded and creative Goldy, with two hard working guys, that can grind out chances in Skille and Sutter, may be interesting to watch.

As for the rest. Yeah it's same issues different day.

there is some bellyaching going on...

not directed at you, but i just don't think it helps to try and make Nuck4U into some kind of pariah by ignoring the guy like some have suggested.

The only issue is WD upholding JB's wish to see the kids get more opportunity.
We will see how it plays out or does WD stick to punishing kids on mistakes.
My problem is the vets don't get the same treatment. Idc for doubke standards at all. Eg the Sedins poor defence costing goals.

im interested to see what happens with Goldy on that line, but i'm more interested in Bear and Bo having a solid close out to the season... Maybe chapoo can show some improvement.

I'm only hoping the Nux don't take anyone injury prone...

Maybe trade the 1st for RNH?

I think Chaput has done fine given the roles he is asked to play.

Guessing we will pick 4th taking Mittelstadt. Makar & Foote could be good trade down choices. Providing this list was accurate.

ran the simulator a few times (first time ever) and seems the Canucks were coming up 7th overall more often than not...

Sure. Seems WD is giving Bo and Sven the ice time over the Sedins and Sutter. At least that part of JB request is being followed. Well injuries and trades kind of left WD with no choice on that. But where he does have choice let's see. Again, Megna being out is giving him less choice too.

As for Chapoo he's been consistent. Works hard defensively. Doesn't add or take away on offense.

I don't think we could afford to pass on Casey if he's available.
His skating and stick handling is absurd, he reminds of a bigger, tougher version of Mitch Marner.

how many people can honestly say they were thrilled when Boeser was selected. No one knew about him. Trust in Benning and his drafting.

Today @ 4:23 PM ET
I was going through the injury reports on Nolan Patrick. Is the groin injury reoccurring? It looks like the shoulder was. I think the groin was injured, didn't recover like they wanted and he went for surgery. One injury.

I had heard that the first groin injury/surgery they knew they were going to need to repeat it a second time for the other side, but it should not be an issue anymore. I may have heard wrong though.

I'm a bit of a draft pessimist this year.

Outside of the top two I don't see any elite talent and even then I would put this year's top 2 in the 5 to 8 hole if they were in last year's draft.

Please temper your expectations for this year, remember that, all year, this draft had been seen as the weakest draft in years and years.

I like the top 20 or so but I'd see them as being more then top 40 in most good years.

I have no stats or data or even gut feelings to back this up, only the fact that up until recently all the experts were pegging it as a very, very, weak draft class.
I don't think it'll be as bad as the Sedins draft year but not quite as good as the Yakupov draft year.

Well now that I've painted a target on my ass..... anyone else think Goldy should switch spots with Chaput for offensive zone duties.

I know that he's no Megaman but put him in a strictly offensive roll and see what happens.
