Of course i am about earning it. Experimenting is not always needed for everything & btw its not kindergarten its the pros.
Question: have u ever played competitive sports? - Nighthawk
Earning it can be a frustrating process, but its that resilience and hardwork that should make the team better. I would like to see some mix of Goldoblin or Boeser in top 6 minutes and PP but thats the reward they chase for coming to play every single night.
Sven sat in the middle of the season when he wasn't competing, came back stronger. Bo started 4th line and said that made him hungrier. Both have worked out remarkably well |

No protecting the lead. Come on. I know you are about earning it. But the season is over. It's learn and experiment time. Not watching Sedins over and over again. Especially on the road. Sheesh. Anyway at least WD stuck with BB on Bo's line in home state with family watching after signing. Must have been a direct order from JB and TL. - Nuck4U

I get you. Not worked up. Just pointing out. It's not about what's enough. It's about what's right and priorities. Glad the young guys found a way to bring their game. Cool.
Also if you are being true to your word you should tell off that ASL trolling if you want to stop nauseating. You realize you are just feeding him and his like fodder to take advantage when adding in negative personalizations. Even in a joking manner. They aren't chill about it. Not like you. - Nuck4U

Good move by management. Finally killed the wild speculation banter. Kid is poised huh. All that pressure too. |

Who gives a F what other teams players think - classic321
Because they affect UFA's/trade lists if we ever want to acquire any new players outside the draft? |

I'm all for integrating the youth, but this is still a professional franchise. The hockey world is very small and if you dont think new
s travels on how players are handled you are sadly mistaken. Players around the league respect the Sedins and other vets who have paid their dues, they would not be impressed to hear them get kicked off the power play for some rookies who combined have less than 100 games. That reputation (as with any bad reputation) is tough to shed and will follow the franchise long after.
Its very simple for us armchair GM's to plug/play players, trade them, be tough/cutthroat etc. but reality is they are still people and that, like any other organization, is difficult to manage. - WhiteLie
Just call me Mr Plug n Play lol
I'm the worst here posting lines & trades no doubt.
Its all fantasy posting & spitballing. |

Those sound like great moves to start the season. But it's over now. This is gift time to experiment and give unproven players the icetime to strut and figure out what they are missing to work on. At least more so now, wouldn't you say? |

but we all know you're posting your fantasy and not actually criticizing the coach. Big difference in projecting vs saying how you'd be better |

It all begins in the offseason & onto training camp & beyond.
Players practice hard then take into the game. Thats the process IMO.
As for frustrating thats life in the pros where as out of the many ppl that want to get to the NHL nothing is given to them. Its up to EVERY player to make a coach play them & take a page out of other players handbook EG Burrows. Opportunity is a fickle beast & nobody deserves anything other than what they do & how they do it. |

I would be a little more lenient in mistakes made, but still wouldn't gift things. This is the beginning of the career for these kids, they should know to work every game all season long. I wouldn't want them to look at the calendar next season and be like 'well, only a few more losses until we are out and then I'll finally get the chance to show what I can do'. To me that provides incentive for losing, because the shackles will be off when they are eliminated. Keep them honest and accountable for hard work and let them be rewarded, regardless of standings |

I've criticized WD on a few things the last few years. Lol
I'm only trying to keep it in perspective best i can as i see it.
Eg another coach wouldn't change us into contenders.
That said WD has done fine by the kids but leaves much to be desired on other things such as the PP & PK r on him. In these transition years he will sink or swim on his doings & thats as it should be. |

Sedins probably know and respect more what's better for this team then WD does. They are way to classy to female dog or think it's bad to play the youth. I don't think other players would see that as a slight this time of the year with season over.
You think Granlund being shut down shy of 20 goals would be more of an uproar. Weren't you advocating shutting down vets for youth by the way? Or was that because you thought they would lose more?
Plus if you play the youth maybe more young free agents will sign out of college etc. knowing there are chances here. |

Bro if you believe for a moment any player does not know what to work on or has not been told where their game is lacking u r sadly mistaken. There is no figuring out at all. If a player does not know or does not listen nor can figure it out he is a goner. |

Sorry don't get that mentality. It's not how professional athletes think. Young guys just want the ice time to play and learn and show they belong. How they get it. Injury or opportunity doesn't factor for them. They just go out and do. Why now it's safe even for WD to let them do. |

I did say that if they are injured or not 100% they should be shut down. Thats why I have no problems with Granlund, 3-5 months recovery has him ready for training camp. |

Yes and a lot of it can't be worked on without in game play situations. That's the figuring out part and opportunity to prove it. |

You mean you've never read about how player X demanded a trade for a fresh start? Or heard about disgruntled players frustrated at the lack of opportunity? Those guys were waiting for that magical time you're talking about so they can play.
Jonathan Drouin is the latest example. He wasn't bringing it every night, so he wasn't getting the opportunities he thought he deserved. Then got demoted and asked for a trade because Tampa wasn't getting eliminated any time soon. He was getting the garbage time at the end of games, but that didn't do much. Took an attitude adjustment to become a better player. I want our prospects to be like the latest version of Drouin, not the entitled one |
