You mean you've never read about how player X demanded a trade for a fresh start? Or heard about disgruntled players frustrated at the lack of opportunity? Those guys were waiting for that magical time you're talking about so they can play.
Jonathan Drouin is the latest example. He wasn't bringing it every night, so he wasn't getting the opportunities he thought he deserved. Then got demoted and asked for a trade because Tampa wasn't getting eliminated any time soon. He was getting the garbage time at the end of games, but that didn't do much. Took an attitude adjustment to become a better player. I want our prospects to be like the latest version of Drouin, not the entitled one - WhiteLie
Yes & Drouin pouted & had a tantrum & that got him what?
A: he shut up & grew up. Reality smacked him in the face.
Curious...what competitive sport have u played to know how an athletes mind thinks?
Oh btw i figured out what that C is on Hanks jersey is....
It must stand for coach 😂👍 - Nighthawk
Only some. Just Uni and a couple years Pro in Europe for teams. Plus individual billings in other sports in the States. So have a little understanding from those by gone days before doing some coaching and training for a spell. Now just an outsider on it all. I know things have changed with technology and systems. But the mind set shouldn't be that different.
if you think Hank's been coaching then power to you. Maybe you found WD's replacement

HE realized shut out was over might as well give BB the GWG in first game.
Then WD puts the Sedins out again on empty net. Instead of shooting Hank passes. If he had Sutter or Bo's line someone is shooting. Plus don't they need the experience. What the hell does WD keep overplaying the Sedins at this time of the year - Nuck4U
I was wondering why WD didn't keep Boucher out there the whole time they had the empty net... give the guys the hatrick to play for... and maybe hit the net

I get what you are describing. I am not against it. Just that the timing for it now. Fighting for a spot is what the pre-season and early part of the season is for mostly. It goes thoughout the season in different ways. Especially when games mean something.
There is no illusion of entitlement at this point of the end of season for any players. If the unproven player gets the opportunity he knows it's a gift to show something or he won't get the same leash when things really count next time. They won't be blasé about it.
Competing with them are some vets who want to prove in getting another contract like Skille and Chaput etc. Sure. You weigh that over what they have done and what you want to see in the unproven player. That's it. It all is earned on the ice.
Players like the Sedins have nothing to prove at this point. They don't need the extra time now. Not like the others.

looks promising. - LordHumungous
never been a fan of DC pictures, though, the superman films from the 80s are probably their best efforts... they had the lead back then, just never followed through. Now marvel has set the standard and they can't keep up, especially with the garbage they keep putting out (outside of some of the Batman movies, like Dark Knight)....
Thank gods Boeser's mother doesn't sound like Bartowski's mother. I kept dreaming about Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds after that interview and the many replays that followed... - boonerbuck
Difference in knowing you got an Elite player son over wishing you had and over compensating .

They are still NHL players and have the same desire to be on the ice that the kids do.
I am just going to say it one last time, because I dont want to drag the thread through this anymore: spots are earned and taken, not given. Giving Etem top 6 at the end of last year didn't give him any extra leash this year when he didn't make the team. It will not accomplish the goals you are hoping for. Like Nighthawk said, every player already knows what they need to work on, their trainers back home are already developing their workout plans. This stretch of games is their chance with a more lenient coach to show they can take spots, but they wont be given them just for experimental purposes
longer answer.....they would retire if split.......I know that, you know it, everyone here knows it.....don't think Vegas doesn't know it too. Why pick someone you know will will not play for you? If the team lists are not disclosed, and they are in on the strategy........Even if one gets picked......they retire (not for long) as we give LV a 7th for the rights......
I agree, the scenario is out to lunch. I just want to buck a trend. Everyone can say the twins suck, they are an albatross. I'm just trying to come up with ideas to protect a player or two who might be a diamond in the rough, or a trade piece down the road. - WelfareWerewolf
Like the out of the box look. Risk reward issue though. Is it worth risking to lose Hank to protect Guance or Boucher? Maybe hockey wise some could argue. But not definitely. Plus would be a PR and business nightmare for Nucks. Hank would play for Vegas and honor his contract you would think. He wouldn't waive not prepared for that. He could say okay JB I'll help you out. But then why wouldn't he waive to take a trade to a contender if he was willing. You know.
I thought bb might have a problem with the pace, some saying his skating needs work but I didn't see it, he sure knows where to be and go and he looks like he has good playmaking skills, I see a nice all around good player in a small sample size I think he gets better as time goes on, him and bo, bear already showed good chemistry.

Ending note. Cause you are going in circles not understanding is it the "chicken before the egg" issue. Your logic is sound in a one dimensional way. It works both ways on earning and proving. You need the opportunity.
So how did BB earn his spot today? There is two sides to this and when you apply it more and why is the point. Is this not the best time to give those opportunities to earn it?
Plus game time develops players. It's not all on training. You can't be serious not recognizing that.

His game is determination & nose for the net.
It was mere speculating banter about his skating.

question is do you think gaunce or boucher be replaced, I think yes they can.

he showed great passing skills, I am impressed by his chemistry with bo and bear already after playing double ot last night flying then playing with players he never played with, it energized bo and bear to.
