If Nighthawk gets to post crazy trade proposals then we should be allowed to talk about anything we want. |

Out of the 217 named draft available there are 54 centers. Out of those 54 there are 10 projected first round.
It is mathematically improbable that any of those 10 will replace any of the 30 current top line existing centers. Most teams that have current number one centers are better than what is being offered up in this years draft including Bo Horvat - VANTEL
And?
Those currently 'better' center's will remain so for the next decade? They won't decline, get old or injured or alternatively, the young center's in this draft won't develop and improve?
You telling me out of 54 draftee C's, there is, at this point in their career, not one who's going to be better then Bo Horvat?

I don't know what the obsession is with a first line centre in this particular draft. Just get BPA and if he's a projected 2nd line centre so what. Then we will be really strong at 2nd and 3rd line centre position in the future.
I think that's good right?

Agree if there is a top C available then we need something coming in to compliment Boeser. If we fall out of the top 5 it might be D. |

I guess thats true, we've been wanting an elite centre to come in who can be the face of the franchise. I love Henrik and all but he is not the face of this franchise when we were winning. It was Lou. |

Out of the 54 Centers probably about 10 of them will ever play a NHL game. I am not going to try to convince you because you think everything about Canucks is crap anyways.
Out of those ten that make it maybe one or two may be better in five years , I don't have a crystal ball but there is no sure fire one better at this time |

Absolutely.
Next thing you know, our 3rd line center draftee (Kesler, Horvat) turn out better then expected...

The only way I see Canucks getting another first round pick is either a big trade for a pick and prospect.
SJ win the cup
Or taking a bad contract like Dorsett for Brown and a pick and prospect
Otherwise it ain't happening |

What do you mean by steal? If you mean trade then the cost would be too high . |

A team can't force that issue. That's why with a high draft pick you don't draft for need, you take BPA. |

I don't care the position really, as long as they have abundant skill. |
