I agree but for 1 I thought he would be a 40 pt player this year. At least if he was in Buffalo on Jacks wing.
Not that I watch the Rangers but who has he been playing with? - Stripes77
pretty sure he got dropped to the 3rd line
side note, we dog moulson, but 14 goals and 15 helpers is not bad for a 4th line player |

degree from notre dame is not nothing
he loves it there - homiedclown
I dont disagree but his priority is probably finding the best opportunity in the pro's. With a weak FA class it could be his best bet at getting exactly what he wants. |

looks more like it's the opposing forwards net
I kid. Im just saying its not like the centre position where you can say this spot is locked down for the next 5 years. - Sabresfan-365
The goalie position is something I care so little about.
There are 5 or so great goalies, 5 or so playing terribly, and Lehner is in neither category.
He's in the grouping of the majority that plays as well as the team in front of him. |

Nope not at all
I don't think there is a poster on here who thought Moulson would sniff 30 points this year.
I don't care if most of them are on the PP.
I just wish he wasn't making $5 million a year. |

Even some of those great goalies have been struggling this year.
Price and Hank weren't at their best for a while.
My only complaint in Lehners game is that soft weak side goal he was letting in.
If he fixes that I can say with what I saw this year I have no issue with him being the starting goaltender of the Sabres for the next 5 years. |

You know I would go to tonights game but even the cheap seats on Stubhub aren't cheap enough anymore. They take way to much in fees. |

Ennis and Bogo to me are more of a concern than Moulson.

Agreed, its mostly about the team in front of him. Its just nice to have the option, especially if you believe that Petersen *might* fall into the first category. |

'It happens': O'Reilly says Crosby apologized for low blow
Ryan O'Reilly revealed that Sidney Crosby apologized for hitting him in the crotch during Tuesday's game in Buffalo. The Sabres centre accepted Crosby's explanation that it was an accident and hopes people keep in mind that the Penguins captain takes a lot of abuse each and every night as well. |

Maybe if we are going to trade him because he won't sign it will allow us to include one of Ennis, Bogo or Moulson in a trade. Or do you think the best you get for a pending college FA is a 3rd like Vesey cost? |

I just mean in general, you have about 5 or so goalies on each end of the spectrum that can make or break a team on any given year, maybe fewer than 5 that do it year in and year out.
Lehner is fine as a starter as long as he proves he can stay in the net. |

he's single handedly dropped 4 points in the shootout. They dont exist in the playoffs but at that rate, assuming any kind of improvement next year from the team, he could be the difference between playing in late april and drafting 14th overall. |

What I really want to see is how Lehner plays in the playoffs.
We all know he is an intense guy. I think his make up is perfect for the playoffs.
He will finish this year with around 60 games played barring an injury.
That's right about what I want from my starter. Do it again next year, and the year after that, etc. You get my point. |

What I hope is an OTT situation where Petersen and Lehner both play really well and you can turn one of them into Colin White.
I kid, more of an AHA situation |

Yes and no.
The Sabres scored 2 shootout goals when he is in the net. So regardless even if he stopped half the Sabres still wouldn't have won. |

They all need to go. Anyone who is not producing/living up to expectations needs to be sent out of here.
Expectations need to be met and a line needs to be drawn in the sand.
You either trade/cut/demote the Ennis/Moulson/Bogo's of the world from this team to set an expectation.
Produce or out the door. |

I assume this is a reference to his past injuries?
At what point would he 'prove it', as you say, out of curiosity?
2 straight seasons? 3? More? |
