What I hope is an OTT situation where Petersen and Lehner both play really well and you can turn one of them into Colin White.
I kid, more of an AHA situation - sbroads24
agreed or what Tampas got with Vasilevsky. Basically want to avoid a scenario where you have to pay your goalie 7 mil a year for your teams performance (cough quick cough) |

pretty sure he got dropped to the 3rd line
side note, we dog moulson, but 14 goals and 15 helpers is not bad for a 4th line player - homiedclown

I assume this is a reference to his past injuries?
At what point would he 'prove it', as you say, out of curiosity?
2 straight seasons? 3? More? - kingcong39
I'd say 2.
He get's nicked up a ton.
I mean, no one is going to never get hurt, but I'd say 2 solid years of 45-60 games is fair |

Yes and no.
The Sabres scored 2 shootout goals when he is in the net. So regardless even if he stopped half the Sabres still wouldn't have won. - Stripes77
I imagine it does nothing positive for their confidence when hes in net for the shootouts though.
Im obviously exaggerating but it's still a cause for concern. Your #1 goalie cannot under any circumstances be 0 for 8 in shootout attempts. Thats either some seriously flawed technique or mental weakness. |

That's why I didn't understand the Bishop trade at all...
You would think they would learn with Quick that the team makes the goalie but nope lets trade for another $6 million a year goalie... |

i think its the yapping that gets to him and you'd have to think any sort of rival matchup in the playoffs will have a ton of that.
I have no problem with him throwing a punch or two but you dont want him getting beat between the ears because of some 4th line rat. |

I liked how he came into the year this year.
I wonder what this years off season program for him will be.

I agree but for 1 I thought he would be a 40 pt player this year. At least if he was in Buffalo on Jacks wing.
Not that I watch the Rangers but who has he been playing with? - Stripes77
Hayes and Miller for about 5 games, then his ice time sank for a handful of games, and his last couple games with ice time again now he was with Zibanajed and Nash (primary assist last game) |

In fairness, bishop cost them virtually nothing and gives them a great backup option. Not really sure what else was out there for them. That team is outdated. Simply dont have the speed up front to maintain the strong possession game they've had. |

I admit I am happy the Kings are not doing well as watching their style of play often cures insomnia. |

They all need to go. Anyone who is not producing/living up to expectations needs to be sent out of here.
Expectations need to be met and a line needs to be drawn in the sand.
You either trade/cut/demote the Ennis/Moulson/Bogo's of the world from this team to set an expectation.
Produce or out the door. - mattsox

First game next year goes into a shootout Lehner stops all shots and the team just takes off?
I mean I get what you are saying for sure.
I just don't think it is a major cause for concern yet.
8 times he has come up big in 3 on 3 OT...IDK I would rather want him to play well all game long and not be great in the shootout.
Millers win total for example is skewed because he was such a great shootout goalie, but Hasek was even better imagine how many wins Hasek would have given his 95 NHL ties. I would think at least 50 probably closer to 60. 72 of those were in a Sabres uniform. I think he would win at least 40 more games in a Sabres sweater. |

Thats why im optimistic about the league trending the right way, its just not going to happen overnight. This is mostly a copycat league, if the high octane style wins a couple of times everyone will want a piece of it. |

I agree, but GMTM put himself in a no win situation with some of these players. It's up to him to clean up his mess and create an expectation of excellence in this organization or expect the same effort next year and no playoffs again. |

Until they call all penalties, or at least very close to all penalties, the pace of play and quality of play won't be as great as it can be. |
