At this point, JV is far from a lock to make the roster next year if the forwards are healthy to start the season. Let alone in a top 9 role, especially with Goldobin/Boeser here now and even Boucher to a lesser extent. Plus you'll have Eriksson, Granlund and Dorsett back in the lineup.


Make him earn it, outside of the expensive vets, all spots should be up for grabs in camp/pre-season, and have to be earned.

Gold as an extra? over (frank)ing Boucher? JV should be Utica bound next season unless he impresses. Goldy is the same. Goldy has more upside for our future than Boucher does. Gaunce over Chaput as well.

Put Sven on the point not a dud like Tanev.

What is the rush with getting OJ into the NHL? If he's ready to move on from JR then maybe send him to the SEL or men's league in Finland. He needs time to develop and not be rushed.

Even so, Benning might want to replace him with another fighter(Cram/Labate/UFA). I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that Benning prefers having a guy like that on the team. I know there's Gudbranson but having a dman fight isn't ideal.
