I know they're gonna suck next year, it's a given. Building takes time. - LeftCoaster
Yes building does take time & i cannot see our building is near completion.
Your presumption on sucking lacks reasons why. Simply too vague.
A healthy EG is one positive but in goal who knows if its Marky or a vet.
1 year later much can happen with kids growth curves. Idk if thats gonna be all that significant to make us markedly better though. Lastly who knows if JB stands pat or adds via trades. |

Jets are a strange team in that they have loads of talent but they can't put it all together. - LeftCoaster
Jets are a lot like Philly in the regard where they just outright refuse to go out and spend on a no 1 goalie. |

IMO trading for Duchene would cost you a first round pick, something rebuilding teams don't do. Thus it'll never happen. - LeftCoaster

Putting a guy like Mittelstadt with 3rd liners...
That's how you ruin young studs. - DrChristianTroy
Playing talent anywhere for the sake of playing is poor asset managemeny i agree |

i'm a good poster.
he's on the 2nd D line (Hutton got traded). - dbot
Why did he change his last name? Did he marry Hutton in the off-season, and assume his last name?
Very progressive thinking, don't you think he'll be upset with his new husband being traded away?
What does he think about playing on the wrong side of the ice?
I'm so confused.... |

Just draft him, we'll figure the rest out later - VanHockeyGuy
Benning nice to snag him or Pettersson. I suspect they'll be a few years away from playing though, much li I ever Boeser. |

As I mentioned I would consider trading this years first and maybe addin a little to get Jost. He was second or third best center last year much better than this years crop.
Him and Boeser have a history and he is one year ahead of this years group - VANTEL
Now u r thinking my way lol
Guess it comes down to is Jost better than prospects in this draft.
Idk tbh but i'm leaning to a yes somewhat.
Mittelstadt if a available is hard for me to lose. I could be wrong of course. |

Mittelstadt will look useless if he's not playing with guys who can comprehend his game. Comparing his style to Bo or Kesler is apples & hand grenades. - DrChristianTroy
First of all He would not put Sedin Horvat or Sutter out of a job next year and he will not put Sutter or Sedin out of a job in 2019. He would probably come in as the third on the depth chart to start.
Secondly
Our second line wingers this year were Eriksson Megna our third line wingers were Burrows and Hansen . Do you really think there is a big upgrade playing with anyone of those guys?
I imagine in 2019 our top line will be Bo Boeser and Sven
The next lines will be made up with players like Eriksson JV Granlund Goldobin (maybe ) Dahlen .Does it really matter who he plays with out of that bunch? |

I'm okay with that too, I trust Bennings decision making. The only thing I'd like to see is a Canadian or American kid taken. Someone willing to do anything to win. Tippet / Glass / Foote / Middlestadt. We have a good amount of Euros with Sven / Granlund / Juolevi / Tram / Goldobin and Dahlen. Can never have too much heart and soul. - kevingram
Im very interested to see what kind of numbers middle puts up now that hes back in the USHL.
On another note..
When is the draft lottery?? I need something to look forward to |

Hopefully that's the guy JB has his eye on and we're in a position to draft him. |

This Duchene pipe dream is a joke, drafting is the way out of this hole not trades for players that can't help their own teams. - A_SteamingLombardi
Maybe so but the draft is no guarantee either.
If u claim Duchene cannot help a team then thats ludicrous.
Very speedy skilled c's don't grow on trees. |

I have a feeling Juolevi will be paired with Tanev next year. I can't see him going back to JR. |

So much for Middlestadt - VanHockeyGuy
Why? I think the Nucks have a great shot at drafting 3-4-5. |

I hope JB can draft him with our first pick, guy is going to be a stud.
