I agree, drafting a C is not imminent. However, if that's what is available when we select then by all means draft him.

Granlund has shown signs this year, but really he's still an unknown commodity. Sutter, for all intents and purposes won't even be here when the team is ready. That leaves Bo, so again C is another spot where we are weak positionally.

I don't object to drafting a D, I just don't want to be pigeonholed at the draft like we have been for what seems like a decade. For years, we had to draft scoring. Then size, then D.

Had we taken BPA every time we'd likely be further ahead.

Nobody said anything about lifting them up, I said make them a contender. They are a bottom 5 team, with 2 of their top scorers turning 37.

Of course, I was also out of touch at the beginning of the season when I called their opening winning streak a mirage.

So were the Oilers last season with Mcdavid out of the line up. Don't bring the Sedins up as top players on Nucks team. They are not. They were given the ice time over the youth this season. Now you see them being passed by them even though WD doesn't.

You got young guys coming in with talent to do more. Keep up with the present. If you add Mcdavid to the new roster next season Canucks contend at least or better then the Oilers are now.

As I mentioned I would consider trading this years first and maybe addin a little to get Jost. He was second or third best center last year much better than this years crop.

Everyone is tradeable at the right price.
Whether or not it happens is rare though.
