Sounds like he learned from his mistakes and now his game is coming back to him. Funny how when some guys get their life in order, their game comes back around as well. Hope we take a flyer on him. I don't really remember watching him but we need our "gold rush". We need to hit on a couple cheap players to put us over the top, targeting the KHL seems shrewd. I like what I hear about Antipin.

Agreed, he played in ottawa at one point so i think Tim might know him well enough? At worst you've done something for Rochester or like you said if you can hit there it makes things a lot easier.

I can ask my friend if he did, since he's the official season ticket holder. We're not renewing for next year though. The change in how they do the schedule plus the fact that the cost has become more than we're really willing to spend at this point has put us over the edge.

I don't know anything about this guy. Is he good? Why do we think we are going to sign him? Why doesn't he sign in New York or Chicago like all of the other FA's?

While hope springs eternal, I don't get my hope up on signing him (or Petersen) until they actually do. I was hopeful that we would sign Stamkos, Vesey and/or Babcock. While it's great that we were at the plate swinging, it's obviously disappointing that none of them signed with us.

he has said next to nothing regarding the sabres


if notre dame doesn't win it all, I think he goes back to get his degree and becomes a free agent

if they lose, sabres can't burn 1 year on his entry level deal this year, so no reason to sign here when he can become a free agent


we have a starting goalie

we have 2 other prospects he would be competing with


I just feel there is better options for him elsewhere and if I was in his shoes, buffalo doesn't stand out as a place I would make my mark as an nhl goalie in the near future

Friedman and I think McKenzie mentioned as well. Can't count your eggs before they hatch, you're right...just seeing our options and how we are tending to push. I think a guy like this could fill in well. Zaitsev has been great for TO and if Antipin is comparable it's a good find.
