Good deal for Zaitsev

TITS

- jimi james

Yep. The term is the best part of the deal.

They coul sign him to a 3-4 year 5 million dollar deal and then have to give him a huge contract just to keep him as a UFA.

But in this case when we have to sign Matthews, Marner Nylander to those big deals. We are going to have Zaitzev at 4.5 not 5+ million

Matthews had 4 goals in 6 games going into last night. He needs 4 more goals to reach 40, and he has only 6 games to do it.

If the Sens lose another, I'm really going to enjoy my radio rides in the morning. They spent about 10 minutes yesterday talking about how they had nothing to worry about. I predict the "Colin White for Saviour" calls will be loud and clear now.

I know they're only 17/18 usually, but how can the NHL make a Husband free draft?
- AdamFrench

Not gonna lie, but I have no idea what this means.

to be fair, the few games I saw him playing 2 years ago in the World Juniors (I think) he looked like going to be a great player (2nd line C?).

Waiting for a buzzotron 9000 update.

I saw the vibrator theory but maybe it's when you get a yuge buzz going and then start making predictions?

Some aspects of the projections could be explained by this.

Brown was quietly had a great rookie season and has gone under the radar. This is the story of his career so far for some reason, yet he has excelled at every level.

Doesn't seem to be super skilled, but can skate and has excellent hockey sense and always makes the right play. I would like to see him take Hyman's spot next to Matthews.

Oh, and also...

Has this become a 5 team race for the last 3 spots in the playoffs with Ottawa, Boston, Leafs, Bolts and Hurricanes?

Should be exciting.

If somehow the Sens miss the playoffs.... it would be so.... beautiful....

Yes and no. The Canes can only get 1 spot. The other 3 (or maybe 4) are battling for 3 spots.

Also, what's with the stirring the pot between the Leafs and Sens blogs?.

It's only exciting if the Leafs make the playoffs. Otherwise it's silly.

7 years after 1 season for Z....oh boy...been down this road.
It better be for under 4.5.
It could be a great deal if he continues to improve.....or bad one if this was an anomaly.
The next two years are the leafs best chance at a cup (cap wise), lets hope they make the necessary moves.

So much for those who thought Tampa, Boston and Carolina had no shot.
They are keeping pace. With Stammer back....Lightning could make some noise.

Keep on winning leafs.

The mantra in the room must be about making up ground on the Sens at this point. In and home ice advantage would be yuge
