Because teams that should be better, and should have been for years, finally are? We need defense and some forward depth, there are only a handful of teams that don't and every team would like more. And a coach, but that's not reason enough to have a "failed" rebuild.

Considering the "rebuild" isn't over it's pretty hard to say it's failed. Are they behind maybe? Sure you could say that, but I don't think it's super far behind by any means.
