Agreed. I'm often critical of this team and it's decisions. Sometimes I'm harsh, other times I'm flat out wrong. On the flip side of the coin, some fans blindly defend this team like they have the golden touch. If this were the case, we would have won multiple Cups since the 70's. Wrong or right, I try to provide a different perspective. Some people hate this. - SuperSchennBros
You're cool with me.
What I can stand are the guys who defend each and every move they make AND the guys who are 100% negative about each and every move they make. The reality is always somewhere in the middle and fans with at least half a brain get this.

Not sure why they had to give Nuevirth a two year deal. He's never shown the ability to be a full time starter, and he's always injured. I understand they had to expose a goaltender to the expansion draft. I don't see LV taking him. - PLindbergh31
They aren't contending before 19-20 and their cap situation is much better than it was when Hexy took over. Whether Neuvy is a 1B guy, or a backup the next 2 seasons, it's not that big a deal. Is it ideal? No, but they have much more important things to worry about than re-signing Neuvirth to his current extension.

I just think it is fair to question some of the decisions. If hexy wanted to sign a goalie to not expose Stollie, would it not have made sense to get him in a few more games earlier? Especially when both guys ahead of him have struggled and Stollie has been very good in each game with the flyers. It's not like the Phantoms do a ton of back checking, not sure many goalies are going to have great stats there. Just some odd decisions, IMO - ravishingone
Of course it's fair to question them. Hexy said he wasn't going to keep guys like Konecny unless he was good enough to warrant minutes in a role similar to what they'd expect in the future. Konecny played well, so they moved him to the 4th line and play him with Vandevelde and Bellemare? |

On a different not, why was Colin McDonald called up yesterday? I guess Lyubimov was another swing and miss by Hextall in free agency. It's been one after another his entire tenure. |

Better he should swing and miss on 1 year, low money deals like Gordon and Lyubimov rather than long term big money signings like VLC, Bobby Ryan, Ladd, Phaneuf, etc...
Taking a chance on signing a euro pro to a 1 year, 900k deal for a rebuilding bubble deal is just that: a chance. It's really not something worth getting worked up over. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. |

Yeah, I don't love it. But it's not like he's been playing with them all season so I'm not that concerned. Now if he is still on the 4th line at the start of next season, yeah, then I'll be concerned.

Fair points, I don't disagree there. Gordon, Wiese (although playing better lately) and Lyubimov all look like they missed. Re-signing Nuevirth, and Bellemare can also be questioned. Hextall has a lot to prove when it comes to supplementing the draft with free agents. |

The upcoming training camp is going to be interesting. There are prospects now with multiple years of experience in the minors or abroad, and vets on the team who have shown to have middling success for 2 years. We're going to find out how much they really like the prospects like stollie, Lindblom, Morin, leier and hagg. The guys in front of them on the big club are marginal at best |

Go away. It pains me to say, but I am glad Toronto is no longer the joke of the NHL. I watched last nights game and I have determined I hate your face. - Glak18

He's been released from the hospital and is home resting. Apparently he was suffering from a severe respiratory infection. |

I'm pretty negative and I know it. Outside of Simmonds, these aren't my Philadelphia Flyers. I don't believe in Hakstol for the moment. I've been way too hard on Jordan Weal. I do however like the direction. Simmonds, Schenn, Provorov, Couturier, Konecny and Gudas I like a lot. Giroux and Voracek believe it or not are disappearing me. Gostisbehere I actually believe will be the odd man out when the youth takes completely over. I think management wants to keep him but I expect Morin, Sanheim, Provorov, Myers and Hagg to have more rounded games. Plus the return on Ghost should be mammoth. |

I don't get it either. Stolarz has been so good, he's begging for a bad game. |

Somebody on here had it right. If we win out in regulation and either Ottawa and Toronto lose out in regulation, that's their final shot. |
