Market has already shown that Kane is worth 6 a year, people need to get over it with Kane. He isn't the problem with this team and Psysk is noplace close to a number 4 D man.

All of a sudden all these EX Sabre players that are gone are now worth spots on this team, it amazes me. Psysk is a joke why in the hell do we want him back here. I've never seen such a big group of people that have been screaming for change that all of a sudden wants these players back. The same players that people wanted gone.

Problem is, you are still bitter over the trade. If Kane had 30 or so goals and Bogo 2 more goals you wouldn't be complaining.

I don't see Armia or Myers taking the Jets to the playoffs.

I wouldn't care if he's gone if he was replaced with someone who's actually good.

If I dumped a 6 for an 8, I'll never think about the 6.

Kane is not the problem with this team, but some still can't let it go.

I never said Kane is the problem. I am arguing that signing him to a contract that it would take to keep him here, will become a problem in three years when the style of play catches up to him.

This team is not competing for a cup in the next three years. By the time we are good enough, he will be past his prime and not worth the cap hit.

We will have the same problem with O'Reilly. These players started the NHL grind with big minutes as teenagers and they play a physical style. Kane moreso than O'Reilly. O'Reilly is more skilled and relies less on athleticism so I don't see it being as big of a problem as I do with Kane. But, nonetheless, these players will be past their prime by the time this team is ready to compete. Physical players don't hold up. Skilled players who weigh less do. Ennis will be a better player than Kane or O'Reilly when they are all in their thirties. But we will probably give up on Ennis and double down on the others.

This was why I never liked either trade from the start. What is the point of trading for a few players that make us mediocre now and lose out on draft position, when they will be past their prime and weighing on the cap when the young kids hit their prime and the team is ready to compete.

This was Tim Murray's mistake from the start of the rebuild. He used a lot of assets trading for players to make us a little better right away and sold out on the future to do so. I said this from the beginning and took a lot of heat from a lot of people here for saying so.

Before his hot streak people here were ready to ship him for 10 cents on the dollar.

He has been a headache more than he has helped either team he's been on.

You have to be far more consistent to justify a salary at 6 mil over a term of 5 years or higher.

That's why i don't see it.
