in one of his 30 thoughts pieces friedman touched on the rumoured disconnect between bylsma and the players. He suggested that if anything the disconnect is between the young players who are part of the core and the vets who are being "phased out".

If we're going to gut anyone it should be the dead weight who has the audacity to think they're on the same level as the guys we're trying to build around (looking at you gorges)

You come up with some wild stuff sometimes.

Where is any suggestion he misunderstands his role on the team

im basing that off what homie posted a little while ago. Seems to fit given that he spent a majority of his time here playing top pair minutes

I think it was homie, might have been 89

I'm telling you right now we get the first overall pick we pick Patrick and Nico ends up being a franchise player

Last night Kadri(who I can't (frank)ing stand) scores a goal, looks Ristolienen in the face and say "YOU'RE A (frank)ING wussy"

We score a goal, we look like a person that just got their debit card rejected at the mall trying to buy overpriced jeans.

This is been a thing for awhile. Our guys spirit was definitely broken along the way this season.

Stop getting your hopes up...

Jack Eichel is a -11. Stinks. trade him, send him Vancouver for Jake Virtanen, a 12 pack loganberry and a year supply of pizza pizza. I'll even throw in the title to Rex Ryan's truck with Jack

If we get the first pick somehow, would anyone be against trading it to Carolina for a stud defense man and their 1st, let's say pick #9?

I like Patrick but he reminds me so much of Sam his draft year

I think Nico is going to be the overall better player in the draft

Why does it matter if Murray has been interested in Antipin for the past 4 years?

I know it fits the narrative but Antipin looks to be a player that has talent on defense and he would only cost money.

I'm failing to see the downside other than using it as further proof Murray is blind to his Ottawa days and he's always drunk, supposedly.

- kingcong39

It doesn't have to matter at all. However from his comments and comments of others, it seems Murray had a list of guys he liked 4 years ago, and hasn't really deviated from it.

Just like the Kulikov deal. He made the comment after that he's loved his style since he was in Ottawa, yet it seems he ignored Kulikov's actual play over the time in-between.

Results seem to come secondary to Murray to his personal opinion of players.

There is no way Carolina gives us a stud Dman to move up 8 spots in this draft

you'd think hes making up for lost time...acquiring all the players he wouldve under melnyk had the sens not been a budget team.

If Ristolainen can bring me a 60-70 point + young player yes I do that.
and then yes I move Kane and Reinhart for d-men and bring up Guhle and sign Antipin.

It's a roster overhaul, but again I explore all avenues.

- ImThatGuy

I think there is just one problem in your logic. You're assuming that Risto would get you a 60-70+ young forward. Risto, despite some people believing he's expendable is a coveted D man.

Then you're proposing (I think) that the Sabres are going to get two solid defenseman for two 50 point young forwards.

Just speaking about your scenario, you're estimating HIGH what you'll get for trading Sam and Evander if you're looking to NET a better player than they (statistically) for a VERY good young defenseman moving out (Risto).

Essentially you're getting rid of a potential number 1 - 2 D for a borderline 1st liner and then turning to borderline 2nd liners into to 2 Top 4 D?

I don't think that's realistic.

Never say never. Look at what the Bills paid for Watkins.
