Guhle in our top4 would be a HUGE mistake imo
And you have us getting rid of WAY too many players...
not that I really disagree,
It's just super hard to have that much turnover in one offseason...
especially with the contracts of a few of the guys u have gone - jdfitz77
Agreed. Putting a lot of stock in rookies, guys just coming out of junior, guys from Rochester that frankly havent done much is going to net the same results we got this year. Girgs, Larsson, Foligno & ERod are all RFA's....do we let some of them walk just to add "Player?"
How do we get rid of the vetrans we dont want?
I feel like there's way too much wishful thinking with that lineup.
I still think getting rid of Bogo would be a big favor, but if we can dump that contract on Vegas, it would be a good start.

I'm not trying to overhype him but he's in for a Provorov type of a year
Never been so excited about a defenseman Prospect since Tyler Myers |

He's going to surprise a lot of people last year. Had the pleasure of seeing him play live and he is wayyyy beyond that league. |

Kane-Eichel-Reinhart
Nylander-Larsson-Bailey
Foligno-Player-Player
Risto-McCabe
Player-Ghule
Player- Player
This is what I see going into the off season.
Agree? Disagree? Let me here it - Acup2buff
Nylander is not ready, and Bailey maybe should be in Buffalo all the others Carrier, Fasching, Aspland, baptiste Rodrigues, PU. should all be in rochester learning how to win... Hopefully with Peterson and a some better Defensemen.
FA Player/ Draft-ROR-Okposo
Kane-Eichel-Reinhart
Foligno-Larsson-Gionta
Bailey-Zemgus- Fa / young guy
Risto-TRADE player
McCabe- bogo
Antipin-Ghule
No way we are getting rid of all the player we want this off season... to many of them... But if Moulson, Franson, Ennis and Gorges are gone we made a big step.

I doubt a 2nd will be enough, he's been a lot better this year...
But Minnesota is in a similar bad a spot as anyone
Here's who i chose to protect from them
https://planmyteam.com/NH.../ProtectPlayers?teamid=15 - jdfitz77
so, a second round pick wouldn't be enough of an offer for a player they could lose for nothing? I'm confused.
I also don't understand how, when the discussion of future defensive pairings takes place nobody considers Devante Stephens in those discussions, the kid has really taken off this year, almost to the point where he is equal to Guhle |

I don't want ppl to think I'm BASHING Guhle in any way
i do like him!
However...
he's FAR from proven in the NHL
Why put him in a top4 role?
If he struggles, we are screwed
If we acquire TWO top4 defensemen,
And start him on the bottom pair (or Rochester) and he plays well...
Then our defense will be in really good shape!
Doesn't that make more sense than putting him in the top4 right away?
Let him play his way into that role |

I would think Carrier is a tad farther along than Bailey as far as being productive for the Sabres, he plays with a good amount of jam and he goes to the "dirty" areas in an attempt to score. I don't feel Bailey is physical enough yet, I also wouldn't mind seeing Baptiste get a good look, the kid is a natural born finisher. |

No, bc other teams would offer more
Also...
say they don't trade any defensemen
Then they've likely lose either Brodin or Scandella to Vegas
So they're down ONE defenseman
But...
if they trade one & Vegas picks the other,
Then they're down TWO defensemen they'd need to replace |

You are absolutely correct, Guhle should be in the 5-6 pairing, with second group power play time. Am I the only one who thought that Brady Austin played pretty well in his 4-5 games up this year, minimal mistakes, skates well, not afraid to throw his weight around. I certainly want to keep him for organizational depth. |

Also on Nylander...
he's been playing RW all year as far as I know
This is weird for me,
Bc I thought we drafted him as a LW
And we're also thin on the leftover side & in pretty good shape on the right
(as far as young guys coming up goes) |

He's definitely worth re-signing
Esp when u consider how thin we are in Rochester on defense
I'd actually be ok with Guhle starting in the AHL
We probably are gonna be stuck with Gorges & Bogo,
So they really have to be our 3rd pair
Plus we are bringing in that Russian kid
Murray has some things to figure out this offseason |

Devante Stephens took a big step, but Guhle is still bounds above him. I guess Stephens' skating got a lot better and that helped him ten fold, but Guhle is the much more polished and well rounded prospect. There's a reason why people are talking about him possibly skipping the AHL. Not sure where he'll land next year, but my guess would be as a bottom pairing guy...he's ready for that. |

If they sign Antipin, Guhle will be on the 3rd pairing, most likely. |
