When I watch hockey games - particularly Sabres games - I often recall some of these gems that my PeeWee hockey coaches taught me:
1) don't throw the puck up the middle
2) keep your head up
3) cover the man in front of the net
etc
I am truly amazed at the number of times players - and particularly Sabres players - forget this basic stuff. You can't hang that on the coach. That is a player issue. Having said the above, I still want Disco fired. - SabreWest
My heart skips a beat every time I see this. Especially when it's 3 feet in front of our goalie. But to be fair, every team does this nowadays. |

They don't know were to throw the puck. They don't know how to make a pass.
They don't know what to do with the puck so they just shoot it in any direction. They get skeered anytime they have the puck. |

I doubt a 2nd will be enough, he's been a lot better this year...
But Minnesota is in a similar bad a spot as anyone
Here's who i chose to protect from them
https://planmyteam.com/NH.../ProtectPlayers?teamid=15 - jdfitz77
I think Brodin is worth more than a 2nd, but if Minny's feet are going to be put to the fire, I would start with a low offer. We've been good trade partners in the past, so communication seems solid that something can be worked out.
I see that it looks like you left Oolofsson exposed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he doesn't seem too bad of a player either. I'd be willing to talk to Minny about him, if he's going to be left exposed instead of Brodin.
My point in all this being, like Murray said, we should look to take advantage of teams during this expansion draft. If we could grab one quality player at a cheap price and find another quality player overseas (Antipin maybe) or in college (Smith) then maybe we can get this rebuild back on the right track.

Totally agree with your take on the golfer.
Incredible effort by her to get to the playoff after being notified of that nonsense. - kingcong39
Golf is the only sport that allows people to call in rules violations. We don't get to call a Sabres game on an offside they missed. That's ridiculous. And in this case even more so. It would be like calling after the game ended that they missed a double minor high stick, and the next game during the second period the refs came out and said we needed to put ROR in the box because he got away with the high stick last game.
I have no idea why the USGA or PGA/LPGA whoever, entertains these people. |

If a team is looking to unload a player in order to get something other than nothing, they're going to take the highest bid. I dont know where the logic comes from where someone just says "second round pick" and thats automatically the price for said player and that the trade will definitely be with the sabres.
Look at Lehner. We paid a 1st because our first was higher in the round than another 1st round pick (or high 2nd, I don't remember) offer. Thats how trades work. The team selling always gets the most they can. |

I agree. I never said they had to take a second round pick. I said we should open talks with offering a second rounder, I'm sure that we'd have add more. But, it doesn't appear that they are in much of a possession of strength, so start making calls now, and see if you can get a deal done the moment Minny's season is over. |

If they sign Antipin, Guhle will be on the 3rd pairing, most likely. - kingcong39
If we can't get rid of Gorges &/or Bogo, I'm not so sure...
McCabe-Risto
Antipin- (likely trade)
Gorges-Bogo
Faulk
I don't think they'd put Bogo or Gorges in the Pressbox for Guhle
Not to start the season anyways |

Minny is definitely in a tough spot
I like your ideas, but we'll have to see how it plays out
They probably try to make some kind of deal w Vegas

If they don't put Gorges on the press box so Guhle can play, then they aren't serious about being a better team because Guhle is already better then Gorges. He's probably better then Bogo already too. |

Yup. I hadn't seen the video from the "ball marking penalty", but someone just posted that it really wasn't as bad as depicted as the camera angle changed about 3 inches. Stupid that they allow anyone to call in. If playing partners and officials don't catch anything and 1 hour is passed card signing.... done! Lexi got screwed but handled it well. Mickelson just said today, that it is rampant on tour, the "poor ball marking" practice, and it should be a type of thing with 1 warning from Officials after the round then if it doesn't get cleaned up.... penalties will be assessed. |
