Fair enough but it's not just loyalty on Linden's part, IMO, they also have rock solid NMC deals which makes it difficult to move them. Not to mention they probably want to stay together, which is difficult task as well. - LeftCoaster
another 2 years each at mill. |

And that is fair enough too.
I would go to them after the last game and ask them if they would accept a trade if a competitive team is interested? I would also explain that if they stay here next year they won't be on the same line that Danny will be on the third line. |

My problem is we know we are going to be bad but the Canucks because of their loyalty are saying "We will begin after next year"
We have to go through an extra year just so we can be nice guys - VANTEL
Begin what though? We need to be bad for another season or 2 anyway to collect top draft talent. They are on pace to be in the lineup for all 82 games and we have a realistic shot at 29th and if the Avs were not historically bad, probably 30th.
The team cannot begin to build or add pieces any time soon and the more seasoning in the AHL some of the young guys get, the better IMO. I think they are helping the rebuild more than they are hurting it |

Since we're stuck in the situation anyways, I'm interested to see how they play to start next year. Remember how bad Burrows was, and he took it upon himself to get in better shape and he had a pretty good year this year. |

My biggest fear with the Sedin's being mentors is what do they say to the kids? Joe LaBate-Chaput-Dorsett gets into a fight and they tell him"Oh you mustn't do that" or Tryamkin gets a roughing penalty for retaliation, he gets told "you must learn to take it".
No freaking thanks, enough is enough. I will take the Edmonton model for rebuilding ( 10 years) if we could just get rid of our pansies. |

You still have to sell your product. There are many ways to make it more entertaining . The easiest would be to make this team tougher.
We are not going to score lots anytime soon but you can still be hitting and fighting.
Engelland and Gazdic are both free agents and for a combined 3 mil you could be bad boys. We will be drafting high for years and years but in the mean time entertain your fans .
Could you imagine a first line of
SpeedBag Hank and Gazdic.
Now that is entertainment |

Certainly one way to address it, I'm not sure Linden would allow that approach though. |

I didn't think Presidents were suppose to set rosters |

Ah I gotcha. I would hope that management could begin on that right away. They dont need 2 roster spots and $14 mill in cap space to make that happen |

I've PM'd Makita and asked that you receive a 6 month ban for your inflammatory post. Shame! |

They should be split up next year ...all year ...I know it won't happen but that would be what's best if they remain Canucks - Redmile247
Agree and maybe if a hard ass coach like Hartley is brought in it could happen...but very doubtful. |

Still not enough. The D is all around soft. No blue line presence. Team toughness in the neutral zone is non-existent. Retaliation or push back as a culture does not exist. The fore check does not invoke fear.
Canucks are a soft franchise. Top down. - bloatedmosquito

Hitchcock is retired and Green is a bad idea. - Marwood
Both are a bad idea at this point. Hitch couldn't get much out of deep blues club what does anyone think he could do here with this lineup?
Green has said he won't be an assistant and HC here is a stretch for him IMO...but you never know. I feel Greens fate here is latched to JV. If JV is actually ready next season...Green could be here.

I think the president should actually butt out and let the GM talk to them |

We tried Torts and it was a disaster...tough to say if another hard-ass voice is what this team needs. I say work on the roster first and go from there... |

That I totally agree with, but I don't think that's how it works in Canuck land when it comes to Trev and the twins...sadly. |
