I miss Burrows, Lack and Cracknell - CanuckDon
We went after cracknell in the offseason but he decided to go to Dallas. |
|
|
|
not good considering what his cap hit is though.
Granlund pots you 20 and hes only 900k - Codes1087
TJ Oshie would have potted us 30 at 4.1 and Torts told the Canucks the core is stale .
We traded Kassian and kept 4.5 M Burrows |

He should have been gone last year 4.5 cap space for 14 goals.
Like I have said Burr has been one of my favorite all time Canucks but it is about the name on the front of the sweater that matters.
We hang onto things way to long here - VANTEL
Not arguing that point, my point was that he-at an advanced age-recommitted and refused to regress like he had been, just trying to be hopefully that the Sedins could do something similar and not be quite so brutal next year. Wishful thinking, but hey, we're stuck with them either way. |

I would still sign TJ Oshie in the offseason for 4.5-5 mill for 2 years. |

That coaching style is ancient but it would break up the country club.
Do you think if Torts came back the next year the twins and Edler would still be a Canuck? - VANTEL
lol...this is true. |

It would be cool to have Oshie, but the possibility of that is low. And he'll most likely sign for about 6.5m 5yrs |

I didn't mind him, he did what was expected from a 4th liner and he wasn't a liability defensively.
Cracknell was a good person to have in the locker room apparently. |

I think the likely-hood of that happening is low as well. It would be nice, but wouldn't count on it. I know he and Boeser train together in the offseason but I don't think that persuades him to take that big of a pay cut of what he would fetch on the UFA market. He is going to get paid. |

Oh I know he will, which is why I know it won't happen. I don't like paying for UFA's though, it never works out. |

he is one player I wouldn't mind having back. He was never a bad 4th liner. |

We don't need another high priced UFA right now . (not aimed at you) |

For one I doubt Oshie would've signed here, two, he's playing with Backstrom and Ovechkin, two of the best in the game, and three....I doubt he scores 20 in Vancouver. |

UFA's r nearly always pay thru the nose type deals.
Usually players can only live up to the money & rarely surpass & more often not. |

Worked out with Vrbata his first year here. There is a time and a place for it however. No need to look at UFA's at all until the Sedins and Edler are gone. |

Yes & on another no PO team. They get a worse pick & he will get a raise in a year. |
