Imagine how Jack Eichel feels saluting a sea of red jerseys and blue seats after that win. Probably not how he pictured Buffalo. - Buffalo--Sabres
It's only like 5 games, counting Leafs games, out of 41.

The Sabres have made very few good moves over the years, one of them is Brian Duff |

Can't believe how quick this season went by.
Only went to one game this year (3-0 win against Florida) |

Well Jack needs to learn from this season and be better next year. Amazing how this team can play when nothing is on the line.
Shows me that coaching isn't the issue with this team ............. |

It's the price this market pays for having such cheap tickets (and yes, they're still cheap relatively speaking). Out of market fans will come in and swap them up, especially when their team is good because it's way cheaper here than in their own home building. The same goes for the Bills. In fact, it may even more for them. |

Yep. I said that earlier too. Even when the team was really good after the 04 lockout there were still tons of Leafs and Canadiens fans in the building because the season ticket holders can make so much money off of those games. |

Pretty much this. Back when I had season tickets ('07-'09), people would sell their 4 Leafs games (usually above face value) and pay for most or all of their season ticket package. It's really hard to blame someone for giving up tickets to 4 games out of 41 when that's the return.
N.B. I did not sell my Leafs or Habs tickets.
*EDIT* Thinking back on it, most or all is probably an exaggeration. But it was a very significant return. |

In 2006-2007, it could be closer because there were four games a year versus Toronto, and the tickets were still really cheap, before the major revenue sharing increases. Now, you can't do that. There are fewer games and the ticket prices are more expensive 10 years later.
Still, I remember hearing that New England Patriots fans saying that they come to Buffalo every year because making the drive, hotel, and the ticket were cheaper than going to a game at Foxboro. That's probably also an exaggeration, but still a good deal. The tradeoff is that Buffalo wouldn't be able to afford the ticket prices in most markets. |

Strange how hush hush their keeping the Okposo illness. All jokes aside, I sincerely hope he pulls through. The silence about the illness has me fearing the worst tho. |

I wonder if it could be a neurological infection when it happened relatively quick?
I have blackout on my NHL TV feed tonight. Hows Nylander looking? - stereojam77
You have a blackout in (frank)ing IRELAND? What are you supposed to do, drive to the arena and buy tickets at the box office?
(frank) Gary Bettman sideways.

There are European sports channels that pick up North American sports. This game was nationally televised in Canada (hence the 7:30 start instead of 7:00). The feed could have been picked up by that sports channel, even if he doesn't have it as part of his TV package. If it's on locally somewhere, it will be blacked out, no matter where you live. |

It just sucks that the blackouts are no longer because you live close enough to go to the game, but because you also dont subscribe to a cable package.
They're literally saying that as a fan, you need to put more money in the owners pockets besides the money you already put in their pockets after subscribing to the NHL package.

To be fair, the NHL isn't the only league that does it. MLB and the NBA does it too. That being said, you're right, the TV industry is getting out of control. That's what happens when you have TV contracts in the billions. |

I'm surprised they said he was in neuro surg. HIPAA is no joke. If Okposo doesn't want info released someone could get into huge trouble.
I don't know what the laws are like in Canada, but pretty much every time you go to a doctor here you have to sign some sort of waiver so they can get info from other doctors, or if you had x-rays somewhere, or blood work... |

Premier Sports I think is a channel in England. Before I found vip box FrontRow used to use their feeds. |
