Why is Junior probably a no?

I would think him playing against men should be the plan ...ahl would've been ideal ..not playing against boys anymore though

Leave it to a Canucks/flames/flyers/bluejackets/etc fan to think this way

Everyone in here freaks out like you guys picked the janitor or something ...lefty is still mad you didn't take Pasternak

OJ should go play in Europe and then play in the Olympics ...be a good year for him

Obviously this is assuming he doesn't make the Canucks ..if he sticks than that's good too

I would say AHL. Wouldn't want him in this shlt-show AKA: the Canucks defence for at least another season.

Good read on Carl Neill whether Canucks should sign him or release him

Would he have to go to Europe to play? CHL kids leave for WJC and various international events mid season all the time.

Or are you suggesting he needs to play pro to earn the spot?

I think he is more-so referring to, if Juolevi doesn't make the NHL next year, does he go to Europe/Finland to play out his final year instead of CHL as he doesn't really have much more to gain from playing in London next year. I have seen many reports saying that he would go and play in Finland if he doesn't make the Canucks out of camp, and he is too young for the AHL.

It's too early to tell what players over here will be able to do ...so much speculation right now ...I've heard a few insiders suggest the Olympic teams will be populated by players playing in Europe like the Spengler cup

Also heard an idea that they cancel the juniors and use those teams for the Olympics

He can't play in the AHL. Don't listen to HeftyCoaster or Classic, Juolevi is going to be a stud for this team for a decade. He should get 9 games and if he isn't ready let him dominate in juniors and get stronger.

I trust him with Dale Hunter. Not eligible for AHL so the options are very limited, like Vantel said 9 games here and we'll take it from there.

Its tough. To play in Finland he would be playing against older/more experienced players, much like Matthews did in Switzerland which has been great for his development.

I think he is better off staying in London as they have a great track record of developing good players, he can be called up to the Canucks when needed, and I am not sure I buy the "not much more to gain in the CHL". He was playing 2nd pairing minutes and had struggled at various points throughout the season. I think he should stay.

I would let him play another year in junior.

Unless people want an Oiler style rebuild they should stop hoping we trade Tanev and Edler.
Plus the twins arnt going anywhere so stop that too...... damn chicken little

Wd is fine for now.... do you want a better couch so we can draft 8 to 12 ov next year? He's not hurting anyone's development. Look at all the rookies who've been with the team over the past year or two and tell me he's ruined Hutton, tree, horvat... plus baer and gtan etc....

Don't hate for the sake of hate.

Why trade the twins even of we could? They wouldn't get is a huge return and this team would be even worst without 2 of its top three scorers.

Hadn't heard the world junior theory but that would make it a little more exciting. I think they do that for soccer, cap the age to U-23?

I think with all the pros playing in the KHL that Juolevi would probably be in tough to make the team even if he went over. I'd leave him to simmer in the OHL, he still can improve as his stagnant production seems to indicate

This .... if he had scored 25 goals and recorded 150 assists in the OHL this season, then I'd say he doesn't have anything else to prove ....

Once he's sent back to juniors he can't be called up.
Otherwise I almost think that you had a decent post.
