All this talk about guys like Boucher & Goldobin having to 'earn it', is such bullsh!t. That may apply to third and fourth line bangers, but guys who can score are different and need to be handled differently. They have to be put out with the right linemates. They need to get a feel for the game and where spaces will open up in certain situations. Most of all they need confidence. Being played 9 minutes a night with plugs is the absolute wrong way to get results.
How many games was it that Baertschi didn't score in his first full year with the Canucks? He kept getting played a regular shift and eventually started to score. He may never be a 30 goal scorer and may never become a core piece for the team. But he's added some skill they were missing and may bring back some better asset in the future. In a couple of years they're likely to trade him to another team who needs offense when the Canucks are ready to bring in the kid they got for Burrows, or one of this years draft picks.
Markus Naslund had 14 goals in 76 games in his third NHL season. The year after he had 36. How much success would he have had under WD and his "needs to earn it" philosophy? - YeOldTimer
he needs to be more patient when they make mistakes |

Why do you take comments on a hockey blog so serious - CanuckDon
Usually I don't, but as a person that has had neurological issues(brain injury) I am pretty passionate and don't like to joke around about those issues...all else on here I take with a grain of salt and have many laughs from the comments on here. |

Next year he adds Carolina, buffalo, and Winnipeg |

It's okay to make mistake's where we're at right now, learn from them. Come prepared in Sept. |

I have also had a brain injury in the past and that's irrelevant. I didnt even know he was in a neurological ward when I posted about the hockey pool. You must still be upset about the NDP comment. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. |

I appreciate the comments Ye Old.
My thinking is there is too much time spent on players that are at this point insignificant. I like some of the skills Goldobin brought last night and you cant ignore Boucher having 5 goals.
The problem is even Baertschi is at best a B type player. Hopefully going forward we are discussing A type players that make a difference. |

i wonder about WD 's comment about spliting the twins next year , yet during these garbage games he does no tinkering to see how it would look |

I realize there will be changes over the offseason and we won't know who's going to be going well at camp. But just looking at some development aspect and what might be better to look at. When Sedins are gone more grit and toughness can be added.
So, if kids are ready to handle a decent defensive side of game. Then with their offensive potential, would this line up produce or be more exciting to watch?
BBB - killer and taking it to next level.
Granlund Hank Goldy - speed, scoring talent for Hank set ups.
Danny Sutter LE - vets to take on other lines and threaten to score.
Boucher Guance JV - energy, grit and offense.
Molino, Rodin - rotate in depending on opposition. Plus, if guy's aren't going hard enough or hit a wall. |

Agreed, I like him but first line players can produce/ perform on a more consistent basis |

I think BBB has potential to be a good 2nd line, but i don't think any HC is going to throw that line against top opposition. |

I think Boeser has the ceiling to be a true first line winger based on his IQ and shot but he definitely needs to get quicker |
