i actually am not jacked about either of them. I am getting a yakupov draft vibe with both of them.

I like Tippett out of the top 5 recently

I don't really love either of them tbh. Necas and Makar are my boys, but I don't have the balls to rank them ahead of those 2.

I dont either...they are still the Top 2 and you pick them regardless based on their draft pedigree however I dont mind the idea of getting screwed over in the draft to pick 3 or 4

Draft Pick Idea!!!

Once we get to 32 teams we hold a draft pick mini-tournament after the regular season ends for all of the teams knocked out.

Rules:

- Non-playoff 16 team single elimination tournament hosted in pre-determined cities before the season, non-NHL cities
- All the 16 first round picks are decided base on a draft ball lottery system
- 50% of the odds of winning are based on the regular season standings
- 50% of the odds are determined by how far you go, with each round win increasing the value of lottery success
- the Champion gets an extra first round pick, #33 overall
- tournament starts two days after the end of the regular season, with a day off between each round for travel
- East against East and West against West

Benefits:

- Non-playoff teams gain some interest back from their fans before the off-season
- Builds competition and interest in the draft
- Non-NHL cities get a chance to see NHL hockey competing at a high level

I'm sure the NHL would love to build hockey around North America in non-traditional cities and markets. Maybe even try a European or Asian tournament to grow the game. Cities like Seattle, Quebec, Houston, and on and on would love to see NHL hockey show up with some emphasis on these games actually mattering.

Thoughts?

That might help with teams that are tanking but it doesn't help teams that are really bad as they still won't be able to win games even if the effort is there and they try their best. The thing I don't like is when teams shut guys down who wouldn't have been if they where still in the hunt or do even shadier things like the Leafs and imply a in team suspension to a key player for poor behaviour while getting one of youre best players out of the line up for a few games to help tank. Sometimes time catching up with franchises and they go to the bottom. Those teams really need the first overalls not the ones who purposely sign players with the full intent of moving them at the deadline or icing teams that are barely ahl caliber. Selling you're entire top six in one year shouldn't be allowed lol

A) wild fans can suck it!

B) if we didn't win the Patrick draft, picking 2 or 3 or 4 isn't the worst thing to happen. If the first picks went today, in order, Colorado, Arizona, Vancouver, Vegas, NJ, Wings , stars.... I think the players picked would go like this.... Patrick, hischier, mittlestadt, vilardi, maker, Liligren, Tippett. Personally I hope the avs get one of Patrick, Hischier or mittlestadt. Hischier to me is a bigger version of Ehlers, an with our 3C's basically set down the middle for the next decade, dynamic winger with great hands and shot and IQ would be sweet to add. Mittlestadt I've really grown on. First thing is speed, IQ and he's very creative. Him playing in ncaa next year will be a test but he looks damn good.

C) IF 9 is traded and a second 1st for this draft comes up in can see us taking another forward. As much as I think we need defense, I think if there is a better fwd prospect on the board you take him. Ie, imagine drafting Hischier and tolvanen or glass or Yamamoto. Your top 6 is basically set for 10 years.not saying the will or should but it could be fun
