I like that Benning said he was looking at a one year deal for EG. I would like to see a full year before you sign long term or trade.

Agreed.

I think most here will attest to the fact that he had a pretty dismal season, be it due to injury (or inherent skill level).

Does he become a UFA next off-season?

Dude chill. It's an exploration. It's putting a lid on the theory. I laid out to the most optimal conditions that they and management in theory were willing to do it. Is there a practical partner? That's my challenge on the issue.

Personally I don't see one. But the advocates may know better.

I think either you're feeding the trolls and feigning ignorance or..... the other option.

Imagine what he could do if he had all the players that should of been there all year, Calder?

Who's trolling us? Our own fan base has been on that soap box. But haven't seen a credible scenario of how it could happen. The premise being they say okay for a contender. So the cerebral excercise to end the hypothesis.

All the other crap of exposing, buyout, retiring early and sitting them will never happen.

I doubt management wants to trade them. We know they don't want to leave. But like Burr what if they all say yes. What is the fit?!?

It's that sliver of hypothetical that will come up. Even in that scenario is there a contending team that could or would want to fit them.

I say no. But challenged in that post if someone knows different. If there are no credible answers then you will know that even that is a no go. Then you can refer back to it as a dead issue that is never happening. Done.

Correct. This deal from Panthers was a bridge deal on RFA giving him one more year to UFA status.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/h...man-3-5-million-one-year/

So it's a risk move if Guddy comes out has a good year and says okay let me see what UFA gets me. Like Leafs will bid. So he becomes a TDL possibility. Which means then JB will be reluctant to move Tanev this off season.

Then the trading options for Nucks cascades into unlikely. It looks like the off season of prospects and development focus.

Worse case scenario they just trade him for a first round pick at the deadline. Not a lot of risk and it's definitely the right move

The young players have developed well with Willie as their coach, you just can't see it but others can.

Yes why I said he becomes a TDL possibility. If no new deal by then. So if has another down showing to not be good enough to sign him. As cap space not an issue with Nucks. Then his value may be lower then what Nucks gave up in that scenario.

Yes i assume much. I'm on record wanting Tallon here in a capacity he excels at.
Idc the price but FA should do it if its possible. Tallon luvs his golf & sunny weather & an Canuck our 1st ever pick & a proven builder of teams. We check off all boxes except the weather 😂😂 Back up the Brinks truck if he would join us.

I agree. It's not all slick Willie. Especially since TORTS proved he can actually coach. I used to think Willie was a big problem, but I think the Sedins suck a lot of air out of the team now. They need to be used way less. Especially on the power play.
- kaptaan

torts did well here until his fight with hartley and got tuned out by the room. SO we know he knows the game. People forget we were in 3rd place the 1st 1/2 the season.
So yes he can coach.

He also said he learned alot from his experience here too and changed some things about how he handles things
