It's a more talented and likely to score and entertain take you set up. The size and grit options we know of don't seem talented enough to help with scoring. The #1 issue because the top end isn't good enough to do it alone. I see you keep putting right shot JV, on a team with only one right shot wing, playing the left side.

Maybe some of the skill guys get enough cache to make a trade for talented size and grit down the line. At least when Sedins are gone there are two spots to fill with talented size.

- Nuck4U

More speed & skill & will lose a ton of games again.
Not a realistic roster tbh but tankers would be happy.
JV can play either wing effectively if ready.
Keeps lefties happy in their comfort zone on their off wing.

The 2019 season should give a real glimpse of our future.
2020 we should be for real or its trouble in River city.
Long range prognosticating but it is about the right timing for guesstimating.

ya. I'm just being doom and gloom canucks. sry

odds are worse than last year cause of vegas joining. boo urns. I;m not going to worry over this lottery. It's next year that matters more.

It is what it is with the lotto luck. Next draft is deeper no matter where they land. Maybe won't be a dog season either. You never know how things might come together instead of fall apart. All part of a rebuilding team's trials and tribulations.

We really need a top 3 pick in '18. if not the top pick. Be nice to have a Norris caliber dman for a change. we'll be in the running thats for sure.

Goldy in Utica is not a bad thing & quite possible indeed.
Boeser isn't small lol

- Nighthawk

He's not running people through the boards....plays a small forward game.

That's a fair take, any thoughts on who else needs to go?

I'd rather word it we need to nail whatever pick we get.
Its 1 more big draft for us to get more game breakers.

The PP is always something that can be improved with any roster we ice.
The D has to show better as a group for a sign of progress.
That means more offensive production & EG being at his best.
In goal who knows who is in there next year or after.

I think he's actually looking a lot better. The fact he lost that weight and is still noticeable is a good thing.

Be interesting to see how he and JV do in the offseason.

Btw, I love Nuckers assessment of the new JV.

coked out Mason Raymond.

So bang on.

Nuck's don't have anyone in that category at forward or in the system either. BB is like Bo though. They get their hits but it's not punishing.

Hank has more goals than either Kopitar or Giroux.
Saying that he still has game but its Daniel who is supposed to light it up much more. 25 goals or its 3rd line minutes IMO next season.

That kid can't buy a break. Maligned for weight he lightens up. Now he's getting the scarecrow treatment. Once labeled....it never stops for some. Like they say in Brooklyn ... foooorrrggggettaaaabooouuttt it.

That's no knock on Boeser s game...singers sing and dancers dance. He's a hell of a singer and he's gonna be a crowd favourite for many years. Goldie is playing better but ....minuses still piling up. He's the easy mark to start in Utica. Him and JV can maybe learn to play together

Well he has brought it on upon himself. Its easy for posters to make him the whipping boy. Call it the Vancouver effect & something that never changes.

he looks good. it shows he's got leaner.

Just made him look like Mason. Perhaps we can now trade:

JV
Ballard
2nd

for

Crosby

It would help Goldy to let Green round out his game. The kid has speed & talent & we can exercise patience & let him learn the next steps to reach potential.

I honestly don't think he'd benefit from an AHL season... He'd benefit more from a decent set of linemates who compliment his game and an offseason where he gains a few lbs of muscle. He's proven to me over the past few games that he already thinks & sees the game at an NHL level.

Maybe so but idk where he fits in next year. Muscle needed yes.
Logjam on the wing but anyone can step it up & make it hard on JB.
Goldy can do that if this off season he comes back better & more prepared if he figures it out he has the skill & how he forces his will be the key

Not sure what you've been watching...he's not scoring....getting scored on to the tune of 2 goals per game....called out by the coach for basically being a lazy goal suck. He's not ready for the NHL......yet

Backing up Troy Goldy has NHL speed & skill no doubt.
U though like myself that its the details he is lacking.
Sometimes its just playing time but not always but next year is an audition for many.

Yes that's a good take. Seems he knows where to go and make plays too. He's done his AHL tour. He needs to learn the rest like Sven did in the NHL.

Yeah, he's a +1 because he's getting scored on to the tune of 2 goals per game.

He didn't look out of place with the Sedins despite them being a less than ideal offensive fit... The AHL will only frustrate and possibly ruin him. Find him some (frank)ing linemates.

Goldy would be a good 1st pass outta the zone as play like a C on Sutters line.
He can lead the breakout with skill & speed up the middle as they weave into the O Zone is one way to use his talents. If nothing else he can be much better than Sutter as a playmaker that isn't saying much.
