A guy like Sutter shouldn't be 3rd on the team in PP TOI behind the Sedins... That's plenty of opportunity. Ideally he wouldn't see the PP at all. - DrChristianTroy
Try sepearating the player from the coach. That will help his unproductive PP time is due to the stupidity of our coach and it's not Sutters fault |

On a healthier & better team Sutter is a shutdown C & on the PK IMO
Our predicament makes many things questionable. I reserve my opinion more so til about 2 seasons from now. In the meantime he is not on any PP i can dream of 😂😂 |

Sutter is food stamps Kesler. Where he ranks on this team in terms of scoring is nothing to get excited about... Lots of TOI & opportunity that he wouldn't get on a deeper squad. - DrChristianTroy
Plus he sucks against the pacific division
Guy has 3 points in 22 games against the pacific. |

The PP TOI isn't his fault but the 8PP points in 206 PP mins is. |

He was also unproductive on the PP in Pittsburgh.
The thing is, he's just not all that good. |

something profound for a lot of players on this team.
What did Don Cherry famously say: " a coach can make any player look bad." |

I think he's gettig at Sutter was miscast in the role there plus the PP strategy sucked. |

Waiting at the game for scalpers to drop their prices, still wanting $180/ticket. Crazy. |

My whole point was supposed to be about whether he's actually any good as an offensive contributor, or if his production (34pts) is mildly inflated by his role on this sh!tty team where he gets a ton of opportunity (TOI). |

A total overall lack of scoring hurts. D contributes nothing & the PP non existent. |

At this point you're paying for McDavid and the Oilers......not the Canucks. |

The guys has hit 20 goals twice, and 40 points once in his career. There are no excuses for him, he's not very good a scoring. |

His scoring is not the problem. The entire team needs lots of growth. |

It seems to me that WD's among the best coaches he has had by your logic - golfingsince
Nope. That's not the point. The critisim is that Sutter isn't producing enough with all the icetime he keeps gettin. So then, the coach is making him look bad by miscasting him in that role. Incorrect deployment is just as relevant as too much or too little. |

Highest paid forward in the league to never score over 40 points.
I can't believe this organization considers him a foundational piece. |

Yeah with you as he's not really. He's miscast there. He's a good two way guy that can fill in above 3C for a team that has few options. Granlund would make a better offensive center then him. JB needs to find someone to play behind or in front of Bo with Hank going down. |

The problem is that we rely on him for scoring, and to shut down other players. He's also not very good at that.
Sutter is a fill in stop gap player, nothing more and nothing less. |

Lap what up? Foundational piece to me is depth not stars.
Top 6 F's & top 2 D & goalie r core players IMO |

Sutter makes himself look bad.
If the coach cut down his minutes, you'd be saying he needs more ice time. He's not some 21/22 year old where we wonder what we have on our hands. He's been in the league for 8 years now.
The secret is out, he's a mediocre player. |

Its the fans who go n on & bring up Sutter.
Who cares really while we r going thru this rebuild?
Much more to chat about like prospects & the draft that is much more important. |

Was enjoying the Laff's choke job with 6 minitues left in the game. Then realized if they missed the playoffs they would win the lotto again. Call it the plan. Nope can't have that again. The Pens gifted them the out. Let them get roasted by the Caps instead. The one and done plan is so much better. |
