Anyone hear what the heck actually happened to Rozy?

https://www.nhl.com/black...chal-rozsival/c-288684230

I didn't see the last game (or read anything about it). Did he get hit with a puck or something?

Anybody hear on how long he will be out? Days, weeks, months??? As much as I'd like to see him on the ice, he's still a good filler for a game or two.

By this time next week when the Hawks are down 2-1 you'll understand.
- DarthKane

Hawks will probably go down 2-1. But they'll still win it in 6.

No team comes close to the Hawks record in games 5-6.

Search NHL bracket 2017 and it should take you to the NHL website for the bracket challenge. You need to register with the site to get to the list of groups and then search on the name - JJ pulled up like 4 pages and I think our bracket is on page 2. Hope that helps

thanks for setting up the bracket, JJ. Good luck to all.

Best time of the year starts TONIGHT! I'm going HAWKS OVER COLUMBUS in 6 for the cup! I think Boston is going to be the surprise team making a deep run in the East, and I think Edmonton is similar to the 09 Hawks- I can see them and the Hawks in a WCF showdown and having a year of growing pains!

Could be.

In the bracket Ive got Edmonton being the longest lasting Canadian club. Not sure how that happened. In real life I think Ottawa might be the best Canadian team in the tournament

When a player goes right off to the locker room after getting stuck like that it's a good bet something got broken.

Old time hockey guys on here go on and on about lack of toughness. Most of the time it doesn't matter and they sound like cavemen. But in this instance you could see the kid think for a second before pulling the trigger. I imagine the message in the Ducks room is that the Hawks are babies so run and hit them at every opportunity, they have nobody that can or will fight back. So I think the kid figured it was a freebie. And it most likely is going to turn out that way. THAT'S what irks old time hockey guys no end. Count me in as a guy who thinks they need one hombre to hold court in an instance like this. At least against teams that seem to employ that kind of strategy against the Hawks. I know it's tough to find a guy who can at least play a 4th line role well enough, who can also go with the best of them, and has a clue about where and when. They need to find someone for the role.

Or the NHL could behave like adults and enforce the rules and give meaningful suspensions and fines.

That probably works better and doesn't endanger the livelihood of other people on the ice.

I like old time hockey. Not gonna lie, I just enjoy the violence. But I like seeing my team win cups more.

I do love a good hockey fight though, its just fun to watch.

I hear ya. That would be best. But superstars are the only ones to get that protection. The regular slug needs all the help he can get. I'll always take a killer even if it's just for insurance. If the hawks had a Charlie or Probie does that kid still take that shot? I don't think so. And if he still does he joins Rosival in going to the dressing room.

Just to be clear, I hate that a guy has to wind up in a fight just because he throws a stiff legal check. Tell the guy who got hit to keep his head up. And I also hate sucker punches or backstabbers.

One thing that has been true since the league's inception and will always be true: Players play different depending on who has the baddest ass on their team. They just do.

Totally and completely agreed and it's been long overdue.

But when the league office is run like a bunch of frat bro's playing NHL '16, you get what you have: making their subjective interpretation of the rules, incident to incident—allowing outside factors to influence, handing out "make goods" on subsequent decisions—more important than the rules themselves.
