Cant sheer for EDM. Already sick of the hype for them and for the Leafs. Also, want will potential Hawks opponents as tired and beat up as possible so I like the linger travel of ANA / CGY and SJS / EDM. Also think those matchups will be pretty good ones.

Won't Hawks play the winner of STL/MIN? Or are you talking the WCF matchup?

Hawks in 6, Caps in 5, Rangers upset MTL in 7, Blues in 7 over Minny, EDM loses the 1st 2 or 3 games and then runs the table(we've seen this before), ANA over Calgary in 5, CBJ takes a BIG step and knocks off the Pens in 7, OTT destroys the impostor Leafs in 5
4 games every night, it's truly the most Wonderful Time of the Year!!!

WCF for sure. Nothing we can do about the first 2 rounds. Trying to think positive thoughts about a deep run. Do not want another refund on Round 2 tickets. That said - hoping that STL / MIN goes 7 games!

DK...has a gloomy disposition toward our beloved...ehhh

During almost every playoff there's an upset in the first round. Last season it was the Preds over the Ducks. The year before it was the Wild over the Blues. The year before that it was the Wild over the Avs.

This season it will be Nashville over Chicago, mark my words.

Looks like we are in the clear for Panarin's schedule B incentives. Does anyone know if there is still a way for him to earn the extra $1.7 million?

Panarin is 9th in forward scoring. Malkin or Tarasenko need multi-point games to knock Panarin out of the top 10 and avoid the Schedule B bonuses.

Not after last night, Tarasenko is at 74 and NHL.com has him listed 10th. Blues have one more game today so hopefully, he can get another point to break the tie. What are the tie breakers? It looks like goals based on the various rankings.

Even if Tarasenko breaks the tie he's in 9th and Panarin is tied for 10th. It's up to Malkin to score 3 points and push Panarin to #11.

Why do you think it will be Preds over Hawks as opposed to another? Just curious.

That is wrong, that list is forwards only. Brent Burns is ahead of Draisaitl. Tarasenko needs one point today (if he plays) to bump Panarin out of the top 10.

I think that is the way Breadman's bonus language is written: top 10 for forwards.

Gotta wonder if the Blues organ I zation sits Tarasenko today---
1) to force the 2017-18 Hawks cap number to be impacted by the Panarin bonus
2) Wonder if Panarin has talked with his buddy Tarasenko---

Intrigue--

Anyone know when they will announce the official round 1 schedule?

They're may be other upsets, but the Preds/Hawks will be the biggest.

Preds PK > Hawks PK
Preds PP > Hawks PP
Preds goaltending > Hawks goaltending
Preds defense > Hawks defense
Preds offence = Hawks offence (2 goals separate them over the season)

Add this all up and you get an upset.

Let's just say, I'll have to see it to believe it

Latoilet teams seem to play well first few years then take a dump

Subban, Johanssen over rated

And if you take away Josi's skate backwards across the zone and shoot top left corner away this team is going to have a tough time scoring

Rinne never has been the same since hip surgery

I guess that's why they play the games, but yeah that's a reach

Doesn't look like an upset for the Preds at all with these ratings.

Still, for me, 'Hawks in 5 or 6.

The Preds were 7-7 against playoff opponents

Blackhawk were 12-2 before they clinched the WC

this is accurate, except it won't be an upset to see the Rangers beat the Habs. NY has been sandbagging it for the last two weeks to secure the first Wild Card spot and avoid having to play the Pens or Blue Jackets in the first round.

Caps are unbeaten vs Bos under Trotz, thats shocking. And Holtby owns them, equalizer as always is Caps mental toughness. Talentwise should be done in 5 but nobody has ever gone broke betting against Caps come playoff time

I don't know about you guys - but I look forward to resident "smashville" d-bag McCann calling us a bunch of bandwagon fans during his pre/post game write ups.

The Hawks have better goaltending and forward corp - Hawks in 6.

Chicago goaltending needs to be more consistent than it's been - both of them.
