Virtanen is 6'1-220 and fast. I don't care if he is playing against men or not. He should be able to crush guys still. He has completely shied away from contact this year. There is more to the story
- CanuckDon

More to do with with getting into Pro condition & focus on other aspects of his game.
Not running around nor worry about scoring. Break him down & build him back up. The speed & skills r there work on the tools.

no one player will get you top scoring.
But JB could flip a prospect for prospect and still address scoring, similar to the Granlund trade, which landed us a 20g scorer.

sign and trade Rodin for a prospect.

No one is going to trade a 20 goal scorer for Rodin or JV

You haven't factored in a new coach.

I've heard there's a guy that really good with developing youth and really has the respect of the veterans.

Sounds to good to be true, so I'll back this guy....oh his name is Desjardins...

Not a current one, no.

A future one, maybe.

Lindy ruff as an assistant.

I'm not even worried about how happy he is, Willy will balance him out.

If he's good enough for Team Canada...he's good enough for the worst team in Canada.

I hope they bring him back just so I can see another whole year of it being blamed on him.

He crushed nurse a few times and he is huge. There is more to the story

Agreed. The guy used to love to throw hits, now he just does flybys or pins guys to the wall carefully. Even if the offense didn't translate, his physicality should have.

Linden hinted that they would address it this year. We have solutions for four years from now

He wasn't physical at all this year in Utica. His shoulders? Perhaps he had his bell rung a few times? Pretty strange and disappointing. I'm holding out hope he can be a physical 3rd liner that provides some offense

Yeah, he barely throws big hits nowadays.

No reports of him needing surgery, maybe we'll hear something after Utica's season is done. I doubt it's just from getting his bell rung, has to be something more(either physically or mentally).

Now that we know the range of Nuck picking for 1st round the lists will be coming. After the 29th of April the debate may narrrow. It seems simple that it's got to be a center in the top 5. So many abound. But here's my order. May the bashing begin.

1)Mittelstadt - Highest hockey IQ. Most creative and great speed.
2)Nolan- solid at everything
3)Nico - Big game performer and producer
4)Necas - highest ceiling offensively
5)Vilardi - playmaker extrodinare and checking fiend

I'm high on Casey but would take big ballz to pick him 1OA. Trust in JB 👍

I hear you. It might be needed. I just rate him above the rest.

I think if he didn't go back to play with his high school team, for personal reasons, he would have been rated higher. Plus the college commitment route. This kid is pacing himself hockey wise as he's looking at the big picture. He's not an early peeker who will fade. He's just going to get better and keep proving it.

But I think he's the most gifted all around of the bunch. Plus a decent size and great skater.

I've no probs if Patrick is determined to be an injury risk with his history.

Looking at CBJ & their expansion draft situation.
Hartnell NMC is a sticking point costing a good D prolly.

Say we take Hartnell/1st for DD/CBJ 2nd.
How does that sound? In the realm of possible & do we like that deal?
