Now that we know the range of Nuck picking for 1st round the lists will be coming. After the 29th of April the debate may narrrow. It seems simple that it's got to be a center in the top 5. So many abound. But here's my order. May the bashing begin.

1)Mittelstadt - Highest hockey IQ. Most creative and great speed.
2)Nolan- solid at everything
3)Nico - Big game performer and producer
4)Necas - highest ceiling offensively
5)Vilardi - playmaker extrodinare and checking fiend

- Nuck4U

Woah, you weren't kidding when you said you don't follow Bob's list.

I don't have Sutter's big balls to rank anyone above Nolan/Nico, but I am tempted to do so with Necas and Makar.

As of now, these are the potential 1st round prospects I am higher on than where I've seen them ranked/mocked:

Martin Necas - fast, smart, skilled, competitive, 2-way center
Cale Makar - such a skilled dman, could be lethal on the PP
Cody Glass- but the hype train has caught up to where I have him so ehhh
Ryan Poehling - plays a power game but has skill/speed too, so much upside
Kailer Yamamato - midget, but the ultimate boom or bust pick
Alexi Lipanov - Russian with skill/speed, but competitive
Pierre Oliver-Joseph - all around dman with skill, has "intangibles" too
Jonah Gadjovich - skilled and physical agitator with meh skating

The rest of the projected 1st rounders I feel are either rated fairly or overrated.

I don't follow enough of the mid round guys, but there's a few I like in particular. Too lazy to post them right now.

Looking at CBJ & their expansion draft situation.
Hartnell NMC is a sticking point costing a good D prolly.

Say we take Hartnell/1st for DD/CBJ 2nd.
How does that sound? In the realm of possible & do we like that deal?

- Nighthawk

So CBJ could have
Hartnell, 1st and not lose a Dman
or DD, 2nd and lose a Dman

i think the answer is pretty clear what CBJ would do....

Sounds like a steal for Vancouver.
outside the realm, way outside.
we would like that deal yes.

Hartnell (NMC) & DD is cap space for CBJ & saves a young F lost.
Trade or side deal with LVGK to not a pick a D.

ALL of the top 7 teams in the lottery could use top D. Doesn't mean its not BPA picked. LVGK is hard to peg but prolly go top C BPA. Makes sense but really only 2 D rate high enough IMO to go that high in the top 7.
Liljgren & Makar & any other D teams reach prolly push some solid talent down into the 6-12 range. Mid 1st round i can see as getting interesting & cannot help but want another pick in there. The draft maybe weakish but its not devoid of possible home runs. Glass Pettersen & a few others start to look very interesting.

I think Sabres & Jets might look to move up to pick D. That if they don't move up in the lottery. Can the Jets get lucky again 😜😂

Best rankings list i've found that fits my guesstimates.

Without Miller I think it will be much worse.
- A_SteamingLombardi

Not sure about that…consensus is Miller played pretty well this year and still a 69 pt club…why pay top dollar for an aging goalie to be below 70 pts? If we are going to be a 69 pts team again next season may as well roll with Marky and see where it goes.

First of all I don't believe Edler said he refuses.

I heard him do an interview before TDL and he said it would be really hard to stay here if you were not wanted. Then they asked him has he been asked and he said no.

I remember a similar comment from Edler.

Can't see JB not taking a C with the first pick this year, unless we drop to 5 and his guys are gone.

Back to back 6 month bans from Ek and two kids under 2 years old. It's been a journey, but of all the seasons to be serving a ban for, the 2016-2017 seems like a good one to have done it.

What a train wreck of a franchise. We think our ownership is bad.

Woke up to a beautiful sunny day here on the south island with freshly ground coffee and a top five pick in year two of our rebuild.....it's a good day!

Ahah ya.
We are going to drop but hey, at-least we are assured a top 5.

We are guaranteed (OMG imagine that) either a top rated center or the ability to select, once again, the best perceived D-man of the entire class.

It certainly could be worse.

I ran it six times this morning....it's so random. 1-2-3-4 (x2) & 5th. They'll get a good pick!

Of course they do. I think if he can improve his skating a bit over the summer he has a pretty good chance of cracking the roster. Coaching staff likes him, Sedins like him.

I'm trying to avoid looking too much into each of the top prospects so that I can be happy with whichever of the Cs JB decides to take. Don't wanna pick a favorite and then be disappointed

I think its pretty straight-forward.
(Who we take depending on where we pick).

1st - Patrick.
2nd.- Hischier.
3rd. -Mittlestadt
4th. Mittlestadt/Viliardi
5th. If all the above centers are gone, take the best D. (In my view, Liljigren, I think he's better rounded then Makar personally).
