I've said it all along, we are getting Nico Hischier.

I still think he goes 1OA.

He's my hope too for several reasons - I think Patrick and him are the closest to being NHL ready. Another year in JR. for both probably.

Middlestadt is going to college for more than likely a minimum of 2 years, so 3 before we see him in uniform.

Vilardi I've seen play a bunch of times this year and he's never once impressed me.

Necas is a 168lbs Center. That means he needs time to bulk up if he plans on making the transition to the NHL. That equals 2-3 years.

Draft and develop! I know it would be great to inject one of those guys on the roster as early as next season but I truly hope their 'readiness' is not a major factor in who we draft...

I'm totally with you on Vilardi, his skating is garbage.
I'll have to actually spend some time researching Necas, as I have yet to understand the hype. If Benning where to go off the board with one of the Euro centers, I think I'd prefer Pettersson.

So 1040s listeners are slamming mngmt. Is it their fault? Or is it the fact the team didn't start rebuilding after the SJ series sweep in 2013?

Slamming Linden and JB. I think JB has done a pretty good job. His trades look good. His later rd picks look good. BB and OJ look like good picks. So tired of people comparing OJ to Tkachuk.

JV is the wild card here.

Team is terrible. Isn't that what they are supposed to look like? A rebuild? I guess the only question is why sign LE. But having vet presence isn;t a bad thing. Especially when the Sedans drive outta here after next season.

People call for a rebuild. But when they lose, they get angry and start pointing fingers.

I'm looking forward to this draft. JB with more picks.
I'm looking forward to UFA. Sign 1 year deals and trade them for more assets next TDL.
I'm looking forward to 2018 draft. JB with more picks.

Aqua man better realize that JB is better than what the peanut gallery thinks. Just let him have a few more drafts. Rebuilding takes time. A lot of 1040 callers don't realize that.

Yep, 1040 is all messed up. Blame the mixed message from the radio station.

Pratt won't be happy until WD is gone and replaced with Crawford. We need a proper tank coach.

They want the club to tank and look like a playoff team while tanking. Score lots of goals and win games while finishing at the bottom of the standings. Apparently good radio and reporting is always finding a reason to biatch.

Many in here have him in Utica...
- LordHumungous

I'm not sure about many in here, he has been one of the bright spots in the last 10 games. I think he should come into camp and make it hard to send him to Utica before he's given an "A" or top 6 minutes.

But there are quite a few on the team that should start in Utica, BTW when is that team relocation happening.

Last week was brutal. They know they are nothing without the Canucks broadcast rights, so they spent last week just shredding the team. Gallagher was on whining about the Gillis firing and complains about the Shinkurak trade at every given opportunity. I look forward to seeing the 1040 crew on Shaw cable interviewing the SPCA and the Union Gospel Mission. F*cktards, all of them!!

I think its pretty straight-forward.
(Who we take depending on where we pick).

1st - Patrick.
2nd.- Hischier.
3rd. -Mittlestadt
4th. Mittlestadt/Viliardi
5th. If all the above centers are gone, take the best D. (In my view, Liljigren, I think he's better rounded then Makar personally).

- Whiskey-Tango

Sounds pretty straight forward. I see many saying take Hischier 1st but again, not having done much research on them, Patrick still seems like the right guy for us considering the extra height/weight. People always talk about how smaller Cs don't work in the Pacific div.

The 1st overall hate/criticism tends to always happen when the player is not defined as a 'generational player'.

Not sure if people remember the 2008 and 2009 drafts.

Stamkos was on the top of the board all year yet many pundits tried to criticize his game and advocated that Doughy would surpass him.

Same thing in 2009 with Tavares and Duchene.

All in all, Pat will be a good player.

The Canucks total salary expenditure this season was roughly $73 Million, meaning each point (69 total) cost them over $1 Million

indeed. We have a terribly uneducated fanbase unfortunately. Many of the 1040 "fans" won't last the rebuild.

I see what you are saying but this is the reality of being in the spotlight. Patrick's weaknesses are being talked about. Although smaller, Nico doesn't have as many weaknesses.

I think Patrick will be a good player, but man his track record for injuries over the last 5 or 6 consecutive seasons is pretty bad. Can't stay healthy. He seems more complete than Nico as of right now, but I still think Nico goes 1st.

Patrick is 1.1 Times the prospect that nico is.

This is known john snow.

His injury this year was the other side of his surgery, everyone in the know knew he'd have to get the other side done as well. No surprise there.

If nico is going first i hope we goo second.

Nico is solid defensively. Patrick is more likely to step onto an NHL roster next year but we should be drafting for the best player in 5 years.

If Patrick didn't have an injury history I'd lean towards taking him first overall but probably still choose Nico. I know he isn't a good ol Canadian Meat and Potatoes player but he is incredibly skilled.
