Desjardins had some weakness but basically had an AHL roster to work with for much of the season. Players like Chaput, Shmegma, Labate, Boucher, Biega, Larsen, Skille, Grenier, Camarosa, Shore, were playing way over their heads - Zogg
I think Boucher is an NHL player, could play 3rd/4th line next year easy |

Oh Willie...I will miss the laughs
""For the final faceoff of the Canucks season and possibly the final faceoff of Willie Desjardins’ tenure as head coach of the Canucks, he sent out the line of Jayson Megna, Brandon Sutter, and Michael Chaput. Sticking to his guns to the very last."" |

Any chance we can get Schneider back? Maybe NJ would bite on Tanev +? |

Hope they go with a experienced coach:
Gallant would be my first choice
Crow would be a nice story, always like him
Michel therien might be the next best - neem55

I wouldn't want him TBH. All he'd do is set back the rebuild while costing us assets.
There will be goalies available in free agency. |

Large dose of reality for Hutton this year for sure...could be traded.
I know there are those on here who believe Gaunce needs more time but man, 55+ games and not one goal...not looking good. |

Hey Zogg, agree with your assessment, but you'll get minimal agreement for our HB expert coaches, this group should be playoff bound.
P.S. nice to see you post again. |

Could not agree more.
Hitch and Therrrein both publically called out players (allegedly) and had Backes and Price stand up to them in the locker room which eventually led to their departure.
Green has no NHL coaching experience and frankly should have accepted an assistant role when he had the chance.
Ruff and Crawford are old school coaches. I am not saying Nichushkin would have saved the stars season, but it isn't very re-assuring that he basically was the reason he left for the KHL as a rookie where we may have 1 or 2 of them on the team next year. |

Thanks, good to be back . I agree, there seems to be a significant split between the WD camp and the roster camp. I suppose there is valid perspective in both. However, I don't think any coach could have taken the line up we had and been successful, even if we had a injury free roster |

Nico is solid defensively. Patrick is more likely to step onto an NHL roster next year but we should be drafting for the best player in 5 years. - CanuckDon
If that's the case then you should be looking at Mittlestadt. |
