He was loaned to them at the TDL - YuenglingJagr
He was loaned on 3/1 after having being recalled on 2/10, so the 10 game/30 day period wasn't up yet. Now it is.
The waiver period ends on the last day of the team's season I believe. - MJL
That's what I had hoped, by Cal O'Reilly had to pass thru waivers last year on 4/12 after Buffalo's season had ended on 4/9.
http://www.diebytheblade....ce-cal-oreilly-on-waivers
The Sabres have placed forward Cal O'Reilly on waivers according to TVA's Renaud Lavoie.
O'Reilly, 29, scored three goals and four assists in 20 games with the Sabres. In 44 games with the Americans he scored six goals and dished out 22 assists. He's signed through next season.
If O'Reilly clears waivers, he'd be able to play in the Americans final three games of the season, April 15 vs. Albany and the 16th and 17th against the Toronto Marlies. |

I think after last years 140 foot gaffe in the playoffs the Flyers decided he may not be the future. I liked Mason, but inconsistency for a goalie spells death. I'm sure Hextall has a plan.

Sorry to be so vague here: I have heard stuff that explains their thinking, and there is one thing from a few years that do I find bothersome, but I personally find most of it to be nonsense Milbury-type thinking. If it were my decision to make, I'd have been in favor of an extension. - bmeltzer

I absolutely think Hexy has a plan, and probably a backup plan in case the first one falls through.
There is virtually no chance they go into 17-18 with a goal tandem of Neuvirth/Stolarz |

Here's a newsflash:Mason isn't that good. He's not worth the 4.1 million they paid him, he definitely isn't worth the 5 million he'll probably want next season.
he's inconsistent, can't play long stretches without breaking down, has confidence problems (if he's not named the flat out number one goalie he struggles as he admitted), for every "great" save he makes rest assured there's a soft goal to counter it. Also, the next time he accepts responsibility it will be the first.
Off the top of my head his list of excuses since getting here for his struggles: Too many shots, not enough shots, shots get deflected, defenseman screened him, he wishes the defense would let him see the puck, he wishes the defense would challenge the shooter more, the penalty kill is weak, his knee hurts, his back hurts, his head hurts, his goaltending coach was fired, he gets too much playing time, he doesn't get enough playing time, having Neuvrith behind him put too much pressure on him, having Neuvrith out injured tired him out...and my personal favorite: The LED lights at the Wells Fargo center kept him from seeing the puck clearly.
Good riddance, Steve.
The difference between Neuvrith and Mason is not that great. But one dude made 4.1 million dollars, the other 1 million dollars. Neither one was getting you anywhere. The got Neuvy cheap to hold down the fort next year. - LindsayCarson

So Neuvirth and his consistently stopping 88% of shots is better? |

Apparently, NHL front offices have more information and "better stats" than the average fan. |

We were told that NHL front offices have stats that the average fan could never hope to have. |

Extremely premature to think that about Konecny. Not every 19 year old comes right into the NHL like Provorov has to be a top player. The skill and talent with Konecny is obviously there. He needs to learn how to play in the NHL and that is going to take time. - MJL
I think he has to learn when to attack and when to hold back and fight for another shift. He tried soooo hard sometimes to do too much it came off as glaring rookie mistakes.
I think with a finisher with him he can put up 50 points.
Shoots he was in to 10 for first part of year and still finished in top 20.
Heck he was even better the the heralded one, Vessey who had 2 less points in 10 more games.

Did Weise do enough down the stretch that some other team may be interested in him?
Or do we hope that cat who played in the last 10 games shows up next year? |
