How familiar does this sound? On the Kings, from former SoCal beat writer Abby Mastracco:
"One postseason win since 2014, haven't kept up in the Pacific Division, bad contracts they can't move, haven't developed young talent." - Carol Schram
Too familiar.
Another off season with a lot of moving parts, already. Should be lots of material for you to keep us from disemboweling each other.
Have you got a preference for the Canucks next head coach? |

The Kings just fired Darryl Sutter AND Dean Lombardi.
Huge, but I thought it should happen if they missed the playoffs.
We now have another case study to watch in how to try to turn around a team with too many big contracts that lost its way. Never mind about Quick having been out almost all season... - Carol Schram

Thus the winky face.
Did they fire John Stevens as well? - we_are_all_canucks
No word yet on the status of Stevens or AGM Mike Futa. I would assume they're staying?
More deja vu: Luc Robataille and Rob Blake are taking over the front office. No word yet on a coaching replacement.

Not sure yet. There could be another five candidates on the market by the time the playoffs start on Wednesday!

They won't be the last this off season .....
Lots of old thinking, non progressive types, are all getting cast out. |

True enough.
My pick would be Kevin Dineen. |

Button's mock list is always bizzare and doesn't reflect his actual rankings that closely. Although, he does have Glass at 7 in his personal list. - CanuckDon
I feel like Button tries to out-predict himself. Like he makes guesses on team fits, interviews and the combine before they've even happened. |

That sounds like one hell of an owner , where can we buy one? |

Lombardi has gone out of his damn mind these past 3 years.
such bad trades and contracts he handed out. - classic321
Bringing him in wouldn't be a bad idea.
But he fell into the same hole that a lot of guys fall in to. They fall in love with their guys, re-up, pay them a little extra because loyalty or whatever, ignore the warnings because they're so smart and "i did it this way, I can keep doing it that way"
A firing is usually the kick in the pants these guys need to catch up to the times. bringing him in wouldn't be the worst idea in the world if him and benning could find a split on duties between pro and amateur stuff. |

Elliot Friedman just was saying on their playoff preview show he can't see where Green isn't the coach. Thinks Green will not be coaching Utica next season whether he gets the Canucks job or not |

I've said it before, getting an AHL coach who's never been an NHL coach to replace exactly that, is bad optics and makes little sense to me. |

He's the type of player who's going to produce even more at higher levels when he has better linemates to play off of. There's nothing concerning about his production... He was setting guys up left right & centre who weren't capable of finishing or continuing the play. - DrChristianTroy
His team is garbage in terms of finishers.
Greenbay's top goal scorer has 20 goals in 60 games.
Casey's already got 13 in 24 games, even strength/power-play time be dammed. |

From what I read and oberved. Plus some inside info from college scouts I talked too. His vision on ice and how he thinks the game. Elevates his teammates and positioning. He's a smart player.
You mentioned he has too many holes last thread. Can you elaborate? - Nuck4U
