If we're going to suck, then just play out the string with who we have, most UFA D-men are going to want that last big contract and there's no point to that since they aren't going to want to sign for 1-2 years like we'd want. - DariusKnight

Sutter. Very personable. Total players coach.
He looks the way he does because he has such extreme anxiety worrying about if the players like him. Totally be a great pick for a rebuilding team full of Euro's! - DuranDuran
Yeah I kinda doubt any coach will touch this super soft team. A new coach into league will be only option, sorry Marwood.

I'm sure most of you have seen Spector's piece on Sportsnet

One part of it that I kept going back to was this bit on Horvat: "Horvat, 21, was thrust in the first-line centre role as this season went on and it ate him up, his production waning to the point where he finished on a 17-game goalless skein. That is not player development, but in fact, possible retardation of a key prospect by giving him more than he is ready to handle."
Basically he's saying that Horvat isn't a first line player; however, I'd argue that he is... he just wasn't deployed as one. First off, his even strength points this year (40) puts him in good company. +/- 3 ES points, you'll find players like:
Mackinnon (37)
Johansen (37)
Kesler (38)
Monahan (40)
Toews (41)
Seguin (43)
Ovechkin (43)
To name a select few...
Bo got just 10 PP points this season and the Sedins averaged over a minute more of PP time per game. Plus, Bo started 46% of his 5on5 shifts in the offensive zone vs close to 60% for the Sedins.
I agree with some of Spector's article, but Bo has clearly passed Hank in terms of effectiveness on the ice. He just never got the deployment to go with that. |

I think you will get a vet coach. New coaches with young teams tend to turn out more like the Oilers of the past 10 years.
I joke about DS but he took a very mediocre hockey team to the Stanley Cup finals (I would say we won ) with hard work and good goaltending.
Sutter definitely has a shelf life, but he has managed to get the best out of the last 2 teams he coached. |

Sorry, I might be a little damaged from watching too much Coach's Corner as a kid. |

The last best draft we had was when we drafted 2 nd and third according to some. We are hopefully drafting 2 nd and If Vegas are drafting third can Benning put together a package to steal it away?
Imagine drating your top center, your PM DMan and a winger with the 33 rd pick.
Benning would be a rockstar |

Specter is a (frank)ing moron. If he actually watched the Canucks he would realize Horvat was still generating quality chances throughout his slump. Just a clueless (frank) cherry picking stats

It's a nice thought but it would be organizational suicide for Vegas to trade their number 1 asset |

I personally just can't see Vegas trading away their first high draft pick. Not saying you guys don't have some great pieces, but Vegas are going to need high end talent to create buzz and sell jerseys. I think Vegas gets 1st OA.

It's fun to dream i must say, this is the happiest I've been with the team in awhile. We have some prospects, Boeser and Goblin have shown well, Willie was fired out of a cannon and we have a top 5 pick |

Next year could add Juolevi, Dahlin and maybe this year's draft pick at the expense of... Rodin and Larsen? |
