I think retaining him means they are going with Green. If they were going to go with an experienced coach like Ruff, Gallant, etc. I think they would have kept all the assistants and let the new HC decide who he wants to keep/hire.

To me, keeping a guy on from the previous regime seems like you dont trust the coach 100% or that hes short term

Looking at the AHL playoff race

Utica has 3 games remaining with 77 points, chasing St-Johns for that final spot who's got 80 points and 2 games remaining.

Talk about tight, hopefully Goldobin gives them a spark...

Edit, Albany has 79 points with 3 to go as well.

I saw that yesterday, they lost 1-0 to St. John's on Sunday too, only made it harder for themselves. Maybe should've sent Goldobin back a game early

Think their N.A rankings are relatively safe, but those Euro rankings are all over the (frank)ing map.

And the other coaches werent Benning guys either? My point is that if you have a coach you respect and trust, you let him hire his own staff. Keeping an assistant on and telling your new coach to make him part of your staff isnt something you do with an experienced guy IMO
