UFA time & moves to FLA? - Nighthawk
I think he's too much of a good ole Canadian boy for that
But players will sign with Edmonton for a chance at a cup with him on the roster and he makes whoever he plays with so much better. And he himself is unstoppable so you have to hope you can "contain" him to just a PPG in a playoff series.
That's more where I was going with the comparison. |

Can't believe that it has to be Hate Monday when so many positives are occurring for the Nucks. Yes their record sucked this season. So much despair and negativity. How can a team rebuild without failure?!? April 29th is the next big date.
Let's see what can be checked off for the rebuild:
1)New players and competition in the system.
2)Young talent emerging to have impact on team.
3)top 5 pick that will bring in crucial center top 6 talent.
4)2nd choice in each draft round for young talent depth and role players
5)Only four vets left from the old and stale core.
6)Decision to have new coaching competence and direction for development of new core. |

After the Bertuzzi fiasco, there is no real chance he returns. Plus he would probably do the same thing as WD. |

Yes he hit a wall back then in his success and got frustrated into a coaching hole.
But he went back to trying to improve his craft. He's not the same coach you remember.
Why people like him is he represents an offensive up tempo style of hockey. Not the boring defend at all costs style that the other fired coaches espouse.
The fan approach for Crowe is about how to get through the rebuild. If you are going to lose games with a young team, in a rebuild, then let it be entertaining.
Personally, I hope they find a better tactician then him. |

Because its still helmed by the two people that have lead a capped out team into this mess. Linden's job is to provide A Vision, Jimbo's job is to get the parts for that. Neither has done that part of their job consistently or effectively.
All this is just so eerily Oilers before they lucked into McDavid to bandaid over all the sins of management past. |

Run and gun coaches tend to not run and gun when they can't win. They all get more conservative and pull things back becuase if they want another job, they have to prove they know how to win with whatever roster they're given. |

Hearing rumours this guy may be the new head coach.

How about Ralph Krueger?
The guys has a major in Psychology and is great with kids. Has experience with Lucas Sbisa. And I am sure he would love to get another shot at NHL and stick it to the oilers for tufting him in favor of Eakins. |

I doubt any veteran coach looks at the Canucks as much of an appealing job. The team is 2 years away from really getting back up the mountain. If you take the gig now, you're gonna be gone before the team is any good again.
Better for veteran coaches to wait out a mid-season firing and hop on with some underperforming contender. Plus, a few teams are still yet to fire their coaches that are probably better landing spots for veteran coaches. |
