Tip my cap to Duchene for how professional he has been handling all the rumors and speculation all season long. Can't be easy being constantly asked about it when you can tell he wants to be an Avalanche.

I just don't see you guys trading him. He's coming off his worst year so no team will offer anything close to what Joe will want.

yeah well hes gone, teams are not going to miss out on Duchene trying to low ball the Avs bc he had "a bad stretch of 30 games" or so.

His value is low is just us arm chair GMs being passive aggressive to one another trying to talk boring trades.

His value doesnt drop bc of a bad stretch of hockey...doesnt over shadow his multiple seasons of skill and talent. NHL scouting probably isn't judged in a vacuum like that

Can't really argue with that, but I will say this: Maatta is suffering in Sullivan's system. He will thrive on more defense-first minded team that isn't dependent on the speed attack.

now tell me, what is the Joe Price? What people have speculated on twitter from tidbits of information? really its just been dreger or freidman is that they are hearing 3-4 good pieces. Other than that, who knows.

Everyone says its high but we have no idea what trade talks have been bw teams...if we did we would all be insiders.

No team was going to trade for Duchene prior to the cap number, expansion draft or without knowing their draft pick position. Teams are probably way more cautious, once both are out of the way. Teams will have a better understanding of their roster after all that is said and done.

The teams that the Avs beat writers were saying were the hottest for Duchene, I fully expect them to the ones back at the draft.

Habs, Isles, Sens. Hurricanes and Lumbus were in the mix too but cooled off the closer to the deadline.

Montreal really is my guess. If they get bounced in the 1st round, and with how they don't want to play Galy at 1C. I think they go hard at him trying to win now.

Islanders would be my second guess as I think they will be pressured to do whatever they can to show Tavares they are serious about winning. Montreal and Islanders I think have the most outside pressures to pull of something big

I wonder what Duchene wants? Does he want to go to an immediate contender? Would he go to a team like Detroit or Arizona because I could see them using him as their centerpiece.

I think he does. He is 26 and has been in the playoffs twice. He needs to win now and use his prime years to help a team push deep into the cup.

Rebuilding would be a waste of his talents and I would feel bad for him. Thats why i don't mind trading him. I love that player but he deserves to win..its not goint to be with the Avs anytime soon so he should get the chance to win somewhere else

I could actually see LA being a good partner. They have dmen you'd probably want and they need scoring. Muzzin or Martinez + pick for Duchene?
