Everyone is moving Patrck right out of the top3 now
think I'll stick with central scouting and laugh when he is destroying.
Apologies for the Green comment, it was nighthawk who wanted him. You want Cooper, right?
I'm for Gallant myself, anyone with experience at this point. no more rookie coaches! - neem55
If you check my ranking for Nucks hasn't wavered on having him as their No.2 choice.
I'm sure most teams/scouts are keeping him #1. |

I think to lay any of this seasons performance on JB (and to a lesser extent, Willie) is ridiculous, on paper this roster is fine(it's better than a couple rosters in the playoffs rn). There are no glaring holes, if everyone is healthy. I like the moves JB has made, Burrows and Hansen would have just guaranteed us landing outside the top 5 (they are 2 very competitive dudes) so its good we sold while the value is high (both have done nothing really to help their teams so its a win on JB).
The contracts though, I have to admit are troubling. Sutter will be a serviceable player most likely for the duration of the contract so it wasn't a huge bug a boo for me, but I HATE the Markstrom contract. Sbisa's earning his contract, so I really don't like when people throw that one out there. The Dorsett contract is awful though. LE's contract was awful from the beginning, they could have scooped up Okposo or some other free agent for half the price and they probably would have made twice the contribution to this team. Instead we got another overpaid, left handed, Swedish player.
Comparably speaking (GARTH SNOW, I know I've said this before but he's awful) JB really could be worse, but yeah he need's to hit these RFA contracts out of the park, his contract history is really, really bad. - Crazybagoham
Ahh, burrows had like 6 goals since he joined the Sens, some of the key to the game variety... he's improved their team for sure and I'll be cheering for the Sens. |

he'll destroying himself, he's always injured every season with a bad injury while in junior. You put him with full grown men and it would likely be worse. No thanks. I'll put him 4th.
Im not sure I have a coaching favorite. THey all come with some sort of down side. Probably gallant has the least down side. Id put him 1st then Id say.
Cooper is very smart though, but Im not sure the players like him. Same with sutter.
But look at the playoff experience those 2 have! Hard to say no to that.
Hitchcock has his pluses and minuses as well. Perhaps hitchcock with gallant taking the reigns in 2 years.
Remember we still need an eye in the sky coach too. If sutter doesnt want to coach anymore as some have suggested he can sit in the stands and analyze.
Gallant is probably the safest choice Id say - SMBDragon
Why am I seeing several posts from people with Cooper's name as an option? Isn't he still Tampa's coach and now coaching Team Canada's World Championship team?
Also, in more response to this post, Gallant has a lot of options with the vacancies around the league. Pretty much zero chance he, or anyone else, will take a job as an assistant when there are are currently 5 opportunities that will pay handsomely for them to fill |

there are more coaches than coach jobs though.
The reason cooper is mentioned is because a poster asked about me about him directly. Others chimed in on it. You mustve missed that. |

We aren't the Oilers until we win 3 lotteries and still miss the playoffs. - A_SteamingLombardi
4 lotteries. Only reason they are relevant is cause the 4th got them a generational talent (or even more than that). Everything else that happened (coaches/gm/ufa's) is because of them landing McJesus. Luck.
Where would T.O. be without Matthews? Not this far along the rebuild. Luck.
Gillis drafted nothing top 6. JB is just starting out. aside from JV (who could still be a very useful player cause of his style) most of his 1sts haven't even hit the NHL. It takes time.

whatever bro... Until all the Mr. Brightsides who called us bipolars for talking (IN REAL TIME) about the eventual consequences of asset mismanagement and poor draft choices admit that things weren't nearly as peachy as they continuously and delusionally insisted they were, I'll pound my chest when I feel like it. We wound up right where the chicken littles (apparently being realistic makes me one) said we would and on an accurate timeline too... This was NOT throwing sh!t at a wall and seeing what sticks. Getting ridiculed daily by fanboys for stating opinions gets old, and then when those opinions turn out to be accurate, they're conveniently forgotten or shrugged off as a coincidental eventuality... If that's the case then why do we even bother debating on here? These were all specific takes through the years... No generalities... and I think it's hilarious and convenient that the context in which they were originally presented has been forgotten by the people who continue to (ironically) whine about "whiners". - DrChristianTroy
